After Kem Sokha’s HRP party revealed its four conditions for forming an alliance with the NRP, the latter party said that it is evaluating these conditions. Muth Chantha, NRP spokesman, told the Kampuchea Thmei newspaper that the HRP’s conditions are not too heavy and that negotiations can be undertaken. He said that it is normal if an alliance is set up and there is no mutual understanding, then it would be difficult. Muth Chantha said that the NRP is still widely open to discussions with other democrats because the election is fast approaching. In its statement released on 11 December, the HRP indicated the four conditions required for any other party to merge with it. These conditions are: (1) 2 terms limit for the party president, (2) no use of individual name for the party name, (3) no power concentration in the hand of a single individual, and (4) the party president must declare his assets.

Kem Sokha is the only chance to win the coming election. Thus, all oppositions should back him up 100% if they are to succeed.
