Dangerous dependence on Vietnamese energy

Cambodia plans to buy more electricity from Vietnam

PHNOM PENH, Jan. 28 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen said on Monday that his country was planning to purchase more electricity from Vietnam to meet its ever rising demand.

"I requested the Vietnamese side to supply Cambodia with more electricity," he told a school opening ceremony in Svay Rieng province neighboring Vietnam.

The proposal was made during his visit with Vietnamese official, he said, without elaborating the detail.

"I told our minister of industry, mine, and energy to hold talk with the Vietnamese side to buy 200 megawatts of electricity per year in the new plan. We used to buy only 80 megawatts a year from Vietnam, but this was far from enough," he said.

Power price remains high in Cambodia. The demand in capital city Phnom Penh annually increased by 25 percent, according to official source.

You are a lame excuse of a dog.. Why don't you create jobs and have cambodia create its own electricity. With all that Ph.d you should know something about creating jobs for your people. Oh I forgot, the vietnames are YOUR PEOPLE.

Cambodia has around 29 locations for major hydro-electricity production and the sad part is AH HUN SEN Vietcong slave government only chooses China and Vietname to be the only investors in hydroelectricity project in Cambodia!

I know that Vietname doesn't have advance technology in the field of electricity generation and why does AH HUN SEN Vietcong slave government continue to choose to deal with the Vietcong government? The behavior of AH HUN SEN Vietcong slave government reminded me during the Vietcong occupation of Cambodia in 1980! The Vietcong government insisted that Cambodian matters must through their Vietcong advisors in dealing with economic, exchange rate, international relation, and with the outside world! The arrogance of the Vietcong government to dictate every aspect of Cambodian people life was very clear when they put Penn Sovan in jail for 10 years for trying to deal with the outside world without first consult with the Vietcong government! I believe the Vietcong government will insist on playing the same role as they do in 1980 and that is to remind all AH HUN SEN Vietcong slave officials that without the Vietcong help and they are nothing but a little children who need supervision all the time!

I believe in the near future most of the locations for electricity generation in Cambodia must be on the drawing board and under construction as soon as possible and Cambodian can cut all their independence on the Vietcong energy supply for good!

Cambodia can't be another Palestinian GAZA in Southeast Asia and energy independent mean independence nation!

i know, our gov't is now working to solve this energy dependency on the neighbors, it's not good for our country in the long-run. they are mindful of it. with careful study and planning, the kingdom looks for ways to produce permanent supply of enery for the growing economy. our national interest must come before any other petty interest. help look for ways to solve this problem so we can enjoy uninterrupted supply of electricity to our homes and kingdom.
