On 16 January, the Free Trade Union of Workers in the Kingdom of Cambodia (FTUWKC) sent a letter to the city hall to ask for an authorization to hold a memorial for Chea Vichea, the slain former FTUWKC President, on 22 January. Mrs. Sam Srey Mom, FTUWKC Vice-President, said, in the letter, that the FTUWKC plans to organize a march with the participation of about 100 workers, teachers, and the public, on 22 January, to commemorate Chea Vichea who was assassinated on 22 January 2004. The city hall has not replied to this request yet, but the FTUWKC indicated that the march will take place at 08:30 AM, on 22 January 2008. The march procession will start at the FTUWKC headquarters, located at No. 28B, Street No. 222, Boeng Raing commune, Daun Penh district, Phnom Penh city.
