Family of victims who was killed and injured by Vietnamese men in October 2007, in Kampong Chamlang commune, Svay Chrum district, Svay Rieng province, threatened to retaliate against Vietnamese who will cross the border and enter Cambodia, if the Vietnamese side does not consider their complaints to demand civil compensations.

Sok Saran, aka Roth, the father of a boy killed by the Vietnamese, told RFA on 10 January that he will take the same action as the Vietnamese did to his son, if there is no civil compensation paid to his family (for the killing of his son).

Sok Saran said: “For the civil compensation, I demand 15 million riels (~$3,750), if the Vietnamese side does not resolve this issue for me, I will pull out my complaint from the Vietnamese side. If Vietnamese people come (into Cambodia) through that bamboo road opening, I will intervene just like what they did to my son. There will be similar killings, and we will be even.”

Hanh, the director of the Vietnamese border post, could not be reached on 11 January. However, Sek Yan, the Cambodian Kampong Chamlang commune chief, explained that, in fact, the Vietnamese side did not neglect on the compensations to be paid to the families of the two victims, except that there is some slight delay.

Sak Yan added that Hanh, the director of the Vietnamese border post, told him that the compensation will not occur until after the sentencing of the 2 criminals involved which will take place next month.

Sek Yan said: “According to the Vietnamese plan, they said that it maybe next month before the compensation issue is known, and how the sentencing goes … only after the sentencing that there will compensation…”

Nevertheless, Ros Viravuth, the director of the Cambodian criminal police in Svay rieng province, said that he recognized the suffering of Sok Saran for losing his beloved son, but the law does not allow him to take such retaliation action. Furthermore, the Vietnamese side agrees to pay the compensation, except that there is some delay.

Ros Viravuth said that on 14 January, he will travel to meet Sok Saran to explain about this issue: “OK, wait until I return back, I am in Phnom Penh now, maybe on Monday, I will travel to the spot. I will personally meet with Sok Saran. No problem, I will meet him, educate him, talk nicely to him so that he’ll listen.”

On 07 October 2007, 2 Vietnamese men: Nguyen Van Anh and Nguyen Van Tha beat and killed a Cambodian boy, Ryroth Chea Sophearak, and the pair also beat up and seriously injured So Sopheap, a Cambodian citizen. After a reconciliation attempt was made, the Vietnamese side agreed to pay civil compensations, but since then, no payment was made to the families of the victims, this led to the anger of the victims’ families and their retaliation threat.

This is a serious problem.
We know how horrible to lose a family member.
As it happened at the border Cambodia/VN, the International community must be aware and to give justice to the victims.
The vietcong can use this problem to create a war and to invade Cambodia.

Does anybody like Hun Sen care, really?

To solve the problem, we all must do something... Do not need to tell us, just do it, please?

Hun Sen loves to be called :" Sdech Korn ".
But he forgot that at the end of Sdech Korn reign....His head was chopped off and displayed at the wall of History.
Like or not his fate will go to this path of Karma.
In Khmer History, the second person, after Pol Pot, who committed the crimes again its own people,is Hun Sen.
The Evil Dog has his own day.His time will come.

I used to go to Phoum Daung, Srok Romeas Hek, Khet Svay Rieng and met the Khmer victim in the border. The Khmer people came to me crying, complaning of the Vienameses treating Cambodians as animal and there is not a single Khmer official in place bothers to help their own people. They even blamed me why did I go there ?
The answer is the responsibilities to all the Khmers people...

Its difficult for the Viet to leave Cambodian alone. Unless the Cambodian stop crossing the boarder any buying merchandise from the vietnamese. Both sides needs one another, however the cambodian boarder police must do their jobs not just collecting bribe money and closed one eyes like its leader...

There is no such compensation for a life taken, especially when it is a loved one taken by your worst enemy. This situation is going to explode and I have a feeling there will be no remorse.

10:33PM Where is the law that you claim? There's no such law with Hun Sen in power. How long your law will find justice for Khmer people?

The fathers of the victims and Khmer people need to take revenge. Don't wait for the stupid idiot government helps you out. If you see the Vietnamese cross your land or border, kill them or chop them in pieces to teach them a lesson. Don't mess with Khmer people. Enough is enough. Kill them or burn their houses or boats down in Tonle Sab and elsewhere in Cambodia. Burn down the CPP who corriborate with Hanoi.

Clearly anyone who talks of "justice" from the government has most likely been asleep under a rock for the past three decades, and are very ignorant of the political situation in Cambodia. In Cambodia there is no justice from the government, hell they wont even help out their own kind, all of them are a race of traitors, sell-outs, ex-Khmer Rouge yuons.
