Phnom Penh city – The driver of a dirt hauling truck was beaten by men dressed in bodyguard uniform on 07 January. This incident took place along National Road 5, in front of the Petrol gas station, at the entrance to the Kob Srov dike, at 8:15 AM.
On the morning of the incident, a procession of cars led by a car blaring siren sound was seen in traffic, however, it is not known whom the car procession belonged to, whether a high-ranking official or a rich businessman. The procession came across a dirt hauling truck which was turning the corner, in the direction of the Kob Srov dike, but because of the heavy traffic in that area in the morning, the truck driver could not pull back to make way for an easy passage of the VIP car procession. Even though the VIP car procession, including the car blaring the siren sound, was able to pass the truck already, the last car in the procession loaded with bodyguards, pulled back and blocked the truck, and out came three bodyguards. One of them pointed at the truck driver, but no one can tell what they were saying at each other, nevertheless, the bodyguard was seen grabbing the truck door and opened it, and he pulled out an (AK-47) rifle to point at the driver, he then pulled out the driver and dropped him down to the ground, and proceeded to beat him up. The truck driver was lucky when he dodged the beating aimed at this head, but he was beaten on the back instead. After the beating, the bodyguards took off, and the truck diver hurried to climb back into the truck and took off to the Kob Srov dike direction.
The incident took place under the plain sight of hundreds of travelers and residents living nearby. Everybody was exasperated by the action taken by these bodyguards, some of the spectators even cursed them because they pitied the truck drivers.

I call all the Cambodia people to do an investigation in this affair to find out who the body guard work for. Let show the face of the man that gave the order. This put a stop to this kind of animal, uncivilzed behavior in our country. Let this be an example that we as khmers will not tolerate this kind of treatment for the ignorance officials that buy their way to the office. Please do the investigation so that we can put this guy face on the newspaper.
this kind of incident happened everyday inside Cambodia, it is a matter of people talk about it or not, it is simple when the country lead by the jungle guys, the law they use also from jungle.
I'm speechless of the incident. The government or private sector officials should be ashamed of themselves to have carried such act against the innocent people.
Pedestrians have to respect the people on moto-cycle, the people on moto cycle have to respect the car, the small car have to respect big track and every travelers have to respect the car of Ek Udom or Okgna (high ranging person) on the street in Cambodia. It is the rule!

These people are animal and they're not human being. In Srok Khmer people have power and gun are above the law because that the way their boss, Hun Sen, raised them. Incidents like this is nothing new. It actually occurs quite often but the degrees of violence ranges from minor to extreme. When I was in Phnom Penh, a guy standing next to his motorbike was assaulted by a group of uniformed men after an exchange of words. Afterwards, one of the uniformed men kicked the guy and another hit him in the head. The guy that owned the motorbike ran across the street to get away and then one of the uniformed men took the man's motorbike and rode off in it.

In 1995 I have passed by a Institution of Democracy. I though wow, people in here will be full of knowledges and will strengten Democracy system in Cambodia. But now where is the Democracy ? I think after spending out of donated monies everyone has returned to their home. In most civilised Nations, all their country leaders are so affraided of such Institution. Each leader will have to listen and will have to consult their lawyers in case they have stepped out from their boundery of Democracy system. In Cambodia Hun Sen can do everything. I been in Cambodia as a foreigner , to invest . Driving to Phnom Penh in my own car and stopped by bodyguards , I been beaten in my left eye through the open car window . Los of 30 % of vision , permanently. To bring this person to justice are impossible . He is protected by his master and power full man. But what can you expect from his master ?
He is even more violent and more corrupt .
