With a blackout, Ieng Sary had to be taken to the hospital

Ieng Sary, the former minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democrtatic Kampuchea (KR) regime, was taken to the Calmette Hospital on Monday, Ang Udom, his lawyer’s indicated. He also said that Ieng Sary had a blackout. Ang Udom said on Tuesday that his defendant had a blackout and he put his hands on the lunch table to support himself up, at 11:40AM on 28 January. Later on, Ieng Sary was taken to the Calmette Hospital. Ang Udom said that there, the doctor told him that Ieng Sary’s heart problem is coming back. Reach Sambath, ECCC spokesman, confirmed that Ieng Sary was indeed sent to the hospital at noon on 28 January, and after a night stay at the hospital, he was brought back to the KR Tribunal detention center on Tuesday, to await for his legal proceedings.
