Eng Chhai Eang, SRP Secretary-general, compared the party present condition to a storm when some important party members keep on defecting to join the ruling CPP party. Eng Chhai Eang said that, right now, the SRP is hit by a storm instigated by the CPP. He added that (during such storm), trees that are hollow inside or rotten will walk away (i.e. defect), whereas those trees filled with heartwood core will remain with the SRP as they used to. Eng Chhai Eang said that the SRP will not prevent anybody, nor investigate anybody because it cannot govern anybody. Mrs. Mu Sochua, SRP deputy Secretary-general, accused the CPP of deploying a strategy to destroy other political parties. She said that the SRP will not fall into this trap, those who defected to the CPP must face their own responsibility. She said that (the CPP action) is immoral.
