Vietnamese community in Cambodia receives VN's supports, with an unambiguousness, its community will optimistically be strongest among Cambodians. Cambodian people will be vulnerable and susceptible to Vietnamese community influences. They will continue to dominating. When the neighboring countries perceive the opportunity, especially when we're vulnerable and susceptible, they have the tendency to step in to take the advantage. That's considered ourselves in danger.

Be the survival in the world, it's imperative for Cambodian people have to have a goog government and economy.

Obviously, VN is in a process of spreading their influences.

Under AH HUN SEN Vietcong slave puppet government Khmer people had become second class citizen by birth! This is what can happen when stupid Khmer leaders chose to be slaves of the Vietcong government!

This say a lot and mean a lot when AH HUN SEN Vietcong slave can’t even speak or help the Khmer people such as the Khmer Krom people! In Cambodia, Khmer people don’t feel ashamed to be born as Khmer but it is a sad reality that Khmer leaders such as AH HUN SEN felt ashamed to be Khmer and that is why he can’t do anything for Khmer people and it is unspeakable to see Khmer leaders behaved like this!

We all know many readers on this Blog suffer from a terrible disease, called Xenophobia ...

Anonymous said...

Now is the Vietnamess civilien investion of Cambodia and Hun Sen, Kun Kim & Hok Lundy are there protctors.

How dare you called us xenophobia!!!These are the true voices of Khmer lovers and Khmer nationalists.

We fear that Cambodia will be just a "shell" only and just a 'name'. Fear that the real Khmer will be homeless (true today), poor (true today), powerless (true today), landlessness (true today), voiceless (true today).

Cambodia today is truly ruled by the few elite of foreigners and puppets of foreigners(namely, Vietnamese, Chinese, Thai, Koreans, etc). Classic example, SOK Kong's Sokimex is running the affairs of Angkor Wat, the world-fame and iconic Khmer national temple. And Sokimex is owned by the Vietnamese. Wonder why the Vietnamese company had printed the picture of Angkor wat in their slippers for all to wear, because Angkor Wat meant nothing to the Vietnamese.
THIS IS A DISGRACE TO OUR KHMER FOREFATHERS AND ALL KHMERS!!!

Let me turn around and call those that called us Khmer freedom lovers and nationlists as 'xenophobia', that you are simply 'ignorant','traitor','foreigner'. You simply don't care about the survival of Khmer race!!!

We must stop Hun Sen and the CPP cronies turning Khmer motherland into a "CAMBODIA INC."---where they have so far selling everything to foreigners:government departments/agencies, government positions, lands, waters, forests, sacred sites, rivers, lakes, OIL fields and pocketing millions and billions of dollars to themselves!!!And the issue who really is benefiting from the donor monies???Are the aid monies really go to the poor and the nation??I only see the Hun Sen clan is getting 'fatter' while the 95% poor and the nation are 'skinner'!!!
Wonder why Hun Sen and the CPPs elite want to own Cambodia for LIFE!!!Sadly to say but Cambodia today is simply a "house without walls and doors---the neighbors (aka foreigners) can enter or exit at will"!!!

At the end, VN will be dominant in Cambodia. almost 90 million people in VN. If they keep coming, you can imagine what will happen?

I can see why Khmer Rouge seriously target VN?

We are a loser forever if there is no one like Preah Cheyvoromanh 7!

i don't know the real story, but i strongly encourage cambodian people both inside and outside of cambodia to support one another in our quest to keep our identity alive as khmer and to help support and encourage every khmer person, where khmer krom, khmer leu, khmer overseas, and so on to back each other up to, defend our khmer race just like the way the youn people are doing with their people. smart-up khmer people. don't forget we have both hands and feets and brain just like them. think critically.

khmers, wake up and do the something. who is stopping us? this illustrate how khmer do not have to depend only on one leader or person to do something. it is called 'be pro-active' with your community, and youn is not the only one who is doing this with their people. perhaps, youn learnt this from the USA, where people there do it all the time. this is not about just you or vietnamese people helping their own people overseas, this is happening everywhere, and if we, khmer failed to see that, perhaps, we ought to change our attitude and thinking some. people, it happening everywhere in the world; people help their own kind; it's called 'national interest', hello, i said this a million times. wake up and smell the coffee!! 'it takes a village' rule. this is nothing new. the bottom line is, who stops us khmers from doing the same with our people everywhere? if nobody wants to do it, then have some initiation to form such group so we can help each other everywhere and stop the stupid nonsense bickering and conflict; it won't solve anything problem unless everybody become pro-active. stop making fun of yourself. hello!!!!

get off your couch and do the same thing to khmer krom people. why not form the same group. don't wait for the gov't to do this, individaul citizen of cambodia can do this. i don't think the vietnamese people wait for their gov't in hanoi to do this. think about it, it's probably the youn people in prey nokor who form this group. it's called people's take action into their own hands. and believe me, there are many many such group of people all over the world to form this kind of group to help their national or their people overseas, i'm not a bit surprise to see the youn is doing the same for their citizen in cambodia or abroad.

here, a great idea, khmers, let us form an NGO group committee for overseas khmer affairs (coka) in phnom penh to conduct charity trip or work to vietnam to support indigenous khmer residents in kampuchea krom and in surin (khmer leu) as well. why not?

Anonymous said...

this is what i called thinking outside of the box. liked the idea of forming a similar group to support indigenous khmer residents in vietnam. demand that the cambodian gov't support this group by pointing out to them that the youn is doing it, why not khmers do the same. make protest, people.

They're illegal aliens! They should be deported back to their own country! They could be terrorists for all you know. Where the hell is the US in this? Help DEPORT THEM!

Are you Khmer? If you are considering yourself Khmer, please wake up and smell the Vietnamese's ice coffee. Please do think about the future of Cambodia and her children. Help support your local nonprofit organization that bring good causes to Cambodia or start a nonprofit organization to help the children of Cambodia, such as providing opportunity for primary education. Or if you don't know where to start, start sending some money home to your most needed relatives in Cambodia. A $20/moth can definitely make a big difference in your relative life/lives. Thank you!

9:20 PM, excellent advice!!. You're patriotic with no doubt. I know countless Cambodia-Americans who are devoting their times to fund rasing in order to give hope to our indigent Khmers who are struggling in daily basis in our homeland.

i like everyone's good ideas, here. did you know, other people in the USA send money to help support their family in their country of origin. take for example, philipino and mexican people sent billions of dollars (total) back to help support their not so lucky families and relatives back in their home country every year. i strongly encourage khmer people to do the same by sending money, even in a small amount, to help their families back in cambodia. this way, they, too, can help themselves by starting a small business or something. also, help give good business advice or any good advice your family and relatives in cambodia to learn how to make money, too. please, don't just wait for the cambodian gov't to help them, khmer people overseas can help as well, just like the mexicans and the philipino helped their own country by sending money to their relatives there. please learn from other people from around the world. we don't have to just wait and learn only from our parents or gov't, please learn from other country and people as well. this is called thinking outside of the box. it would help tremendously. god bless cambodia.

To all please read this. This could be a good example for KHMER KROM. Khmer is in that plight too. Since East Timore now is Kosovo. We Khmer Krom will be next. We need all Khmer Krom to unite. We are doing good so far. We have formed Khmer Krom government.
PRISTINA, Serbia (Reuters) - Europe's biggest states and the United States said on Monday they were recognizing Kosovo, a day after it seceded from Serbia.

Paris was first to announce its move after a European Union foreign ministers' meeting in Brussels, and Britain, Germany and Italy followed immediately.

Then Washington said the words Kosovo's 2 million Albanians have long dreamed of.

"The United States has today formally recognized Kosovo as a sovereign and independent state. We congratulate the people of Kosovo on this historic occasion," Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said in a statement.

It was a great relief for Pristina which had nervously awaited expected Western blessing of its secession, but a black day for Serbia, cementing the loss of what it sees as its spiritual homeland.

"The recognition of Kosovo is as important as the declaration of independence," Kosovo's deputy prime minister Hajredin Kuci told Reuters.

"We are grateful ... This is a crucial issue for new state of Kosovo and its functioning."

Finland also said it would be among those recognizing too -- despite the anger of Serbia and its main backer, Russia. Turkey also recognized the territory it once ruled in Ottoman times.

Kosovo Albanians poured onto the streets of the capital Pristina waving French, German, British, Italian and U.S. flags, to thank the West.

The EU said each of its 27 member states could decide for itself on recognition and Spain -- facing its own separatist struggles -- led a minority that will say "no," complaining that the move had "no international legal basis."

"Around 17 states have decided to react quickly so as to avoid creating a vacuum with indecisive behavior," said German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

"Italy recognizes Kosovo as an independent state under international supervision," Foreign Minister Massimo D'Alema said, a reminder that Kosovo will remain under outside control, as it has been for the last nine years since NATO drove out Serb forces to protect ethnic Albanians.

BUSH

U.S. President George W. Bush had earlier appeared to jump the gun ahead of his own State Department, saying the people of Kosovo "are now independent."

The remark was flashed in Kosovo as meaning U.S. recognition but a White House spokeswoman said it did not amount to recognition -- but that came just a few hours later.

This was in line with the original script which called for the EU to go first in announcing its policy on what the West insists is a "European issue" that Russia should not interfere in.

Cyprus, Greece, Slovakia, Bulgaria and Romania have indicated they too are not keen to recognize Kosovo, which confidently expects recognition from up to 100 states.

Serbia has vowed peaceful retaliatory steps and could make life even more difficult for the territory than it already is, with its 50 percent unemployment and a weak economy.

There was no shortage of protest by Serbs against the unilateral secession of the southern province, run by the United Nations and NATO for the past nine years.

Serbs protested against Kosovo's secession for a second day in Belgrade, in their Kosovo stronghold of Mitrovica, and in isolated Serb enclaves in central Kosovo. Several thousand turned out for the rallies, which remained mainly peaceful.

Serbs in the Bosnian Serb capital Banja Luka also demonstrated, shouting "Kill the Albanians! and stoning police guarding the U.S. consulate.

The EU appealed for calm after Serb nationalist protesters stoned Western embassies in Belgrade on Sunday night.

NATO, whose troops keep the peace in Kosovo, said conditions on the ground there were quiet and there was no current need to reinforce its 17,000-plus peacekeeping force.

"It's the end of the Balkan troubles. I hope it's over. And now we need reconciliation, even now I know that will take a long time," said French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner.
Kosovo MPs proclaim independence

Albanian and American flags have been on prominent display

Declaration
Kosovo's parliament has unanimously endorsed a declaration of independence from Serbia, in a historic session.
Celebrations went on into the night after Prime Minister Hashim Thaci promised a democracy that respected the rights of all ethnic communities.

Serbia's PM denounced the US for helping create a "false state".

A split later emerged at the Security Council, when Russia said there was no basis for changing a 1999 resolution which handed Kosovo to the UN.

Seven Western countries said it was quite clear the situation had moved on.

When news came of the declaration in parliament, the centre of the city erupted with fireworks, firecrackers and celebratory gunfire.

Crowds surrounded an independence monument which was unveiled during the evening and signed by Mr Thaci and Kosovo President Fatmir Sejdiu.

Ethnic Albanians staged noisy celebrations in the Macedonian capital, Skopje, and in Brussels, outside the headquarters of Nato and the European Union.

Hand grenades

The first sign of trouble in Kosovo came in the ethnic Serbian area of the flashpoint town of Mitrovica, where two hand grenades were thrown at international community buildings.

One exploded at a UN court building while the other failed to go off outside offices expected to house the new EU mission.

In Belgrade, demonstrators threw stones and broke windows at the US embassy as riot police tried to fend off a crowd of around 1,000 people.

The protesters, described as gangs of youths, also attacked a McDonald's restaurant, the Serbian government building and the embassy of Slovenia which currently holds the EU presidency.

Several Serbian ministers had travelled to Kosovo to show their support for the ethnic Serbian minority.

Kosovo's 10 Serbian MPs boycotted the assembly session in protest at the declaration.

Serbia's Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica blamed the US which he said was "ready to violate the international order for its own military interests".

"Today, this policy of force thinks that it has triumphed by establishing a false state," Mr Kostunica said.

"We have waited for this day for a very long time," Mr Thaci told parliament before reading the text, paying tribute to those who had died on the road to independence.

From today, he said, Kosovo was "proud, independent and free".

"The independence of Kosovo marks the end of the dissolution of the former Yugoslavia," the prime minister said.

He said Kosovo would be built in accordance with the UN plan drawn up by former Finnish President, Martti Ahtisaari.

There should be no fear of discrimination in new Kosovo, he said, vowing to eradicate any such practices.

The declaration was signed by all the MPs present.

Russian protest

The UN Security Council went into emergency session on Sunday evening after Russia called for the United Nations to declare the Kosovo declaration illegal.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon called on all sides to keep to their commitments and refrain from violence.

Russia's UN ambassador Vitaly Churkin told reporters that the resolution allowing the UN to administer Kosovo since 1999 was still in force so there could be no legal basis for any change in status.

But seven Western states said the UN Security Council could not agree on Kosovo's future and all attempt to reach a negotiated outcome had been exhausted.

"We regret that the Security Council cannot agree on the way forward, but this impasse has been clear for many months," Belgium's UN ambassador Johan Verbeke said.

He gave the statement on behalf of Belgium, France, Italy, the UK, Croatia, Germany, and the United States.

Limitations of independence

The declaration approved by Kosovo's parliament contains limitations on Kosovan independence as outlined in Mr Ahtisaari's plan.

Kosovo, or part of it, cannot join any other country. It will be supervised by an international presence. Its armed forces will be limited and it will make strong provisions for Serb minority protection.

Recognition by a number of EU states, including the UK and other major countries, will come on Monday after a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels, says the BBC's Paul Reynolds.

The US is also expected to announce its recognition on Monday.

Three EU states - Cyprus, Romania and Slovakia - have told other EU governments that they will not recognise Kosovo, says our correspondent.

Russia's foreign ministry has indicated that Western recognition of an independent Kosovo could have implications for the Georgian breakaway provinces of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
