The case of Heng Pov, the former Phnom Penh police commissioner, ordering Ly Rasy, the former No. 1 deputy chief of the Phnom Penh criminal police office, to arrest the owner of the Reatrey Reekreay (Happy Night) restaurant, and detained him in exchange for almost $300,000 in ransom, will be heard by the tribunal on 01 April, following a prior request to delay the hearing. On 24 December 2007, the court was supposed to hold a hearing in this case, but at that time, Heng Pov asked to remove Nou Chantha as his defense lawyer and the case was delayed to allow Heng Pov to find a defense lawyer. This is the reason why this case will be heard by the court on 01 April 2008.
