Sok Pheng, a recipient of Hun Sen’s nomination reward as government advisor for his defection from the SRP, issued a warning to human rights organizations in Cambodia not to provide help to SRP officials accused by the CPP of illegal detention of Tim Norn, a former SRP commune councilor from Kampong Thom who defected to the CPP with Sok Pheng. The Cambodia Daily reported that Sok Pheng’s statement was read on local Cambodian TV stations, calling human rights organizations not to help Men Vannak, SRP Sralao commune councilor, and Thorn Rithy, deputy chairman of the SRP Kampong Thom province council. The Cambodia Daily quoted Sok Pheng as writing: “If the human rights groups protect [the SRP officials] it means that they have actively participated in the abuse against the people’s rights.” Sok Pheng, seemingly forgetting that he now works for the ruling CPP party which controls power in Cambodia, went on to accuse the SRP of spreading fear among CPP officials.

sometimes, i have the feeling that human rights watch groups or whatever else they have are sided with SRP more than being fair to all cambodian political group in general. it seems like they (human rights) only look or read fabricated materials from the opposition groups and not being fair to the other politics which received no support or liking from them at all. they are just good at looking for small, human mistakes and blow them out of proportion or exaggerated extremely. why they even called themselves human rights group if they can't even be fair to everyone group!

Sok Pheng cannot allow his lands and business loss to CPP while Hun Sen is using "carrot and stick" policy to destroy SRP.

Look like Hun Sen and the CPP have turned Sok Pheng into a real monster. And for those who think that human right organisations only help SRP please look into the mirror. Human rights groups only help the victims- they don't help the perpetrators. The CPP is the perpetrator, creating fears and victimize the people, the oppositions and critics. It controls the army, police, court and everything so it can do whatever it wants. The oppositions, not just the SRP, have nothing to create fears- they are always the victims.

Wrong, Sok Pheng will be PM advisor, and he will help PM to solve some challenging issues in Cambodia using his own brain and PM brain.

When sok Pheng was in australia last year, we spent time in the local resturant with him, he got up and thanked us who supported him and SRP for all these years. With reference to Hun sem he said, " Our country has a PM who always uses and talks language of violence and dishonesty, that is why a lot of Khmer youths have copied from him, there is no role model for youths...he went on to blame the youns and raised other evil issues of the CPP and Hun Sen.
The anger with Evil Eng Chhai Ieng has made him suck the worst evil. It just doesn't add up. The bashed the CPP and Hun sen hard , now to make them trust him he has to turn 360 degree on his former mates.
You walked out from SRP and now presents for CPP, in order to get Dollors and new high post. Unfortunately, you have forgetten the former communistic strategy.
