Mu Sochua, SRP Deputy Secretary-general, likes to be ahead of the game, and to quickly put to an end the rumors in which she would be leaving her party “for another one” (without providing any further detail), and which are spreading like wildfire among the news media.

In a communiqué posted by the opposition party on Tuesday 27 May, Mu Sochua, who is at the top of the SRP candidate list in Kampot province for the upcoming election, said that she is “officially denying these rumors” which allegedly came from “people with bad intentions who are trying to divide the SRP and tarnish its popularity” at the approach of the election.

I want to make it clear that I joined the SRP with the goal of fighting against dictatorship, against corruption and social injustice which constitute the cancer of the Nation, and which the Khmer people are suffering from,” Mu Sochua added, before stating that she is preserving her code of conduct and her faithfulness to the SRP which she joined in 2004, following her stint as the Funcinpec Minister of Women Affairs between 1998 and 2004.

Mu Sochua took opportunity of this communiqué to call on SRP members and supporters not to be manipulated by malicious people.

She confided to Ka-set, over the phone, that she was recently contacted by officials of her former party, asking her to rejoin the Funcinpec back, with the promise that she will be offered an important position in the government. She declined the offers.

The 'divide and rule' tactics employed by Hun Sen has been successful because its has the power and the resources. Regarding Mu Sochua's case, the SRP should have no doubt about her commitment to the SRP at all. No one should be so naive to think that she would defect from a 'rising ship' (the SRP) to the 'sinking ship' (the Funcinpec), and not even to the CPP. These malicious rumours that she is about to defect are spread with the intention to cause mistrusts and to destabilize the SRP. I think that Rainsy himself and the SRP Steering Committee won't believe the rumours and have complete confidence in her.

SRP need to show the public how the party will deal with corruption, court reform, immigration issues, land grabing, food and fuel price soaring, monk Tim Sakhorn, border encroachment etc. Pls show these measures to the public in this coming election.

Ladies and Gentlemen, comment @8:17AM is the arrogant and babaric voice of the Viet-born parasite and plunderer as he himself had proclaimed here all over KI-Media...not to mention his other gang members such as the self-proclaimed Free-thinker and his clans also known as KJE...

The readers can judge for themselves of the true nature and colors of the Viet's parasite here on KI-Media...

A simple example. If you are a green colour, you should be good green and if you are a red colour, you should be a good red. People can easily identify who you are. Areak Prey

8:17AM, did your Hun Xen, a vicious puppet of Vietnam, get a real Hanoi degree?

9:09 AM, all CPP people like Hun Sen, Sok An, Heng Samrin and many more are lowly educated. They were all cockfighters, cattle carer (kmeng kveal ko) and bandit (chor prey like Heng Samrin and Chea Sim during the Issarak era 1940s). All their honorary Ph.D degrees are all from Hanoi and 'universities' with shady reputation. Hun Sen is ah kmeng wat and ah kmeng kveal ko and Sok An is now an addicted cockfighter, Chea Sim and Heng Samrin were ah chor prey (bandits)during the Issarak time.

8:27 AM, the real name of the self-proclaimed free-thinker or KJE is Klaus Engelhart, a white man who came to Cambodia about 20 years ago to help democratize Cambodia but now supports the CPP and dictatorship blindly because is married to a Khmer lady who has very close ties with the CPP and owned large parcel of lands in Phnom Penh where many poor people were evicted. He is a die-hard Hun Sen supporter. He hated Rainsy because Rainsy opposed the forced evictions from where he corruptly bought the lands.

I have great respect for Mu Sochua. I know she's above all the bad politics tricks that spread by the CPP. Right now Hun Sen's fart smells like perfume to those conscienceless/spineless politicians or zombies. There will be days that the Khmer people will call the last shot and Hun Sen and his cliques will smell the last meal of their lives.

Stop dreaming Ah Khmer-Yuon. We don't do things the same way in Cambodia as you (losers) doing it in Long Beach. While you (losers) continue to live in a roach infested welfare housing, Khmer people are getting richer and richer from their land and crop. Therefore, keep your stupid idea to yourself, and don't do us any favor like you did in the 70's, alright?

Transitional Cambodia Politics: July, 2008 Election of Segregation

I call this coming July 2008 national election of Cambodia as the Election of Segregation because the wealthiest and strongest CPP party has been keeping its Segregating Win-win Strategy forever. Regardless of how CPP has generated the capital resources to win the vote, this party has been tremendously trying to segregate the largest opposition party, the SRP. Hun Sen's win-win strategy is maintaining the same tactic: to weaken internal bond of opposition party, the SRP. There are many faces of that tactic, but the one current significant ongoing operation is to keep welcoming and appointing higher position to all those defectors from the SRP.

General speaking and fairly judgment, the sound policy of SRP towards some sensitive issues in Cambodian society surely make CPP's headache such as corruption, land grabbing, kleptocracy, illegal immigrants, commodities inflation, and biased judiciary system etc In responding to this SRP's key campaign, CPP under Hun Sen leadership is subverting the attention of Cambodian peoples and take advantage over SRP by building internal division and breaking inside SRP. Many defectors are increasing from SRP. As a genuine democratic party, SRP has hardship to stop those walking away in hope of finding new opportunity. The opportunists are existing in every party. But when CPP has been targeting SRP, it is surely incomprehensible. But CPP's tactic relating this internal breaking task-force is surely become double-edged sword. However, as an independent observer of Cambodia politics, why no one from CPP has been defected or walked away? Is this because of CPP is good and perfect? Or this is because of CPP is communist party that the defectors expect only to lose their life and invisible suffering?

Not only this internal operation of CPP that we should pay attention, the critical issues of Cambodian nation are neglected by CPP in correcting themselves for genuine development and sustainability of Cambodia. But in order to continue their position and power, CPP has to divide and eliminate any strong opposition party. It seems like CPP has not concerned and paid attention in collective actions and collaboration with the criticism of opposition parties, but CPP has concerned the abolishing anyone who has criticized their misbehavior.

In developed countries, with their professional political task-force, government regards the suggestions and criticism of opponents as the key proponents for their success and to improve the disadvantages of their nations. In contrast, Cambodia more sound criticisms made by opponents more divisive and marginalized will inevitably occur inside that opposition party.

In this matter, who are we going to blame? The political parties? The individual immature political leadership? Or the culture that has long time ingrained in Cambodian society?

The current interaction between government party and opposition parties are likely not basing on professional political career at all. Particularly, the government party (CPP) who is handing the largest social capital absolutely oversee the situation and perpetuate all opportunities to gain and maintain its power regardless of that power surely distracts the interests of Cambodian peoples.

In current transitional Cambodia politics, I can say politics is about the politics, politics is not about the investment of social good for Cambodia and the whole collective interests for them. Who is going to win is about your political party effective strategy, how good you understand the psychological traits of Cambodian peoples? How good you comprehend the collective behavior of Cambodian peoples when they think about politics? And how effective of your public speech in introducing your key policy precisely to be widespread tempted by the peoples to win their heart and mind?

However, to be fair the mechanism that can stimulate the Cambodian peoples and compete on the above perspective is absolutely excellent. But if the election procedure has already been projected to manipulate Cambodian peoples through the biased National Election Committees (NEC), it is a grave and ugly strategy. It is comparing like the winner pervasively robe and rape their own citizens!

Stop dreaming, loser. You're doing the same thing for every election; that is pointing fingers and accusing everyone of cheating and being killer. Fact of the matter is the whole world don't see what you have claimed whatsoever.

Cambodia is at present needing a good leader with good vision and with good road map for a strong unity and strong development so that every Cambodian people can enjoy peace, good life and harmony. We need good social and economic policies combine with good foreign policies in which we can do our trading as well as to protect our integrity and our territorial. We need to narrow the gab between the rich and the poor. The state have to the responsibility to make sure that every single of Cambodian family has their own land for cultivation and house to shelter their family, school to educate all the young one. Without good education, Cambodian cannot catch up with the rest of the world to earn a desecent income plus ability to compete with the present global economy. People must not self fish and must not trie to exploite their own cityzen. I fully endorce Sam Ransy as the next Leader of Cambodia. Areak Prey

Khmer kills Khmer, Khmer cheats Khmer, Khmer stops trust Khmer that's what yuon's tactic.

For me as a Khmer person I just remain myself on the weak's side, I continue to help the victims and fight the oppressor, the bully and the dictator of course I always against the killers.

I am so sorry for those Khmer people who supported the killers to continue killing Khmers directly and indirectly. And they are happy to prepare themselves for hell.

I don't know where you got your information from.
My name is Jay Rupert and I am a free-lance, unaffiliated journalist living in Cambodia part-time, though I do have a Cambodian wife and children.
The gentleman you refer to is a businessman in the tourist business who wrote an occasional post on that subject on my blog, as have others on different subjects. I am not the exclusive author.
If you read the blogs carefully you may have noticed that I am not a Hun Sen or CPP supporter but I try to be neutral and objective, though I do try to point out glaring disparities between certain perceptions, which also published on this blog. KI-Media is a mouthpiece for the SRP and not very credible, and least of all objective. Sometimes a counter-weight is needed to bring things into balance. When I am critical of Sam Rainsy this is because I try to point out his flaws and errors (in my view), which, however, is always expressed in a fair and level fashion. Otherwise my op-eds reflect my personal views, with which some may disagree as is their perfect right. I certainly do not have anything in common with people without proper knowledge about the real events in Cambodia, who receive their information second-hand and who just use this forum as a means to voice obscenities against people of different opinions.

11:49 PM, free-thinker (jay rupert), you don't have to self-proclaim that you are neutral. People can judge by the posts in your blog. The blog is a complete mouthpiece for the CPP and Hun Sen, even trying to defend Hun Sen's corruption, dictatorship, incompetence and his violent policies against opposition activists who are victims of the CPP systematic violence spree. If you are really an objective journalist you would have defended victims of land-grabs and the opposition activists who are victims of a CPP-orchestrated political violence, not defending the perpetrators of this crimes.

Why was this picture posted without asking me? I follow Mrs. Mu Sochua when she visited SRP members in Stung Treng Province. Now I am not SRP member anymore. My boss, Chao Phaly, ask me about this picture. Thus, I suggest to delete this picture from the blog.
