During a press conference held on Monday 12 May, at the SRP headquarters, the opposition leader announced the publication of his autobiography book in Cambodia, titled “Sam Rainsy, rooted in the stone.” The book was available a few days earlier in France. In the 300-page-long book, Sam Rainsy also explained that he compared the Cambodian people to the stone, the emblematic material of the Khmer civilization. “The stone has a solid foundation. The Sam Rainsy Party is like a tree rooted in the stone. It represents the people and it must protect the people’s interests. Nowadays, people’s lands are being looted, and these lands are being sold to foreign companies. Cambodia must not be carved out in plots to be sold,” the author said, before adding that the book is available in tow other languages: Khmer and English.
