A high-ranking SRP official rejected the rumor indicating that the SRP plans to boycott the upcoming July general election. Eng Chhay Eang, SRP Secretary-general, told the Kampuchea Thmei newspaper over the phone that the rumors about the SRP planning to boycott the election are not true, and he said that these rumors are lies and they were spread to dishonor the SRP. The Kampuchea Thmei reported that, in spite of Eng Chhay Eang’s denial, one low-ranking party official indicated that the SRP held a secret meeting with major party officials to review the possibility of boycotting the 2008 general election. The low-ranking SRP official indicated also that there are 3 views raised during the meeting: (1) asking Sam Rainsy to boycott the election by not registering with the NEC, (2) asking Sam Rainsy to boycott during mid-election campaign, and (3) asking Sam Rainsy to boycott the election one day prior to the election. Tep Nytha, NEC secretary-general, said that the SRP boycott is the party’s prerogative, but he said that we should remember that there are many opposition parties, the SRP is not the only one and the SRP may regret it.

The SRP is finish. They will not make it to the election. All they got is cyclo drivers with fake westerner degree leading their party. Therefore, don't vote for SRP, unless you want to go back to year-zero.

Why boycotting the election? What [reasons]?
If SR decide to boycott the election there is nothing but consider defeat even if before the election campaign start.
Understood that being a politician is under lot of pressure, being involved in 3 general election [1 with FUNCIPEC, 2 under the SRP] and managed to have many seats in parliment is a great achievement that most minority parties are dreaming off and the sudden rumor about boycotting the election is not really kind and will now only doubt the ability of the party and compentency of the leader to contest this up coming election.
So funny that the SRP boycott the election.
People think that SRP boycott is so foolish.
Try to analyse Sam Rainsy what He has done before, We will see that it won't happen.
All I hate from him is He brought people to the streets and get killed and He never apologized to the families of these people.
If You help cambodians, their lives are so important too.
All He has done is to do the contradictory to the government. For example, if The government (CPP and Funcinpec) is not the WTO, He has saided that We should be with WTO. When Cambodian is admitted with the WTO, He has saided it's not good for Cambodia. So what is his point?
So contradiction in his point views.
All He wants is VOTE !
So freaky... Rainsy wants revenge from his father's past. Revenge won't get anything. Deestroy the monarch !!! Without monarch, cambodian's land belong to Viet already. We need a real leader with real goals and purposes for cambodians. And this leader should commit his life to the cambodians. Not like Sam Rainsy who don't know how to give advise to his daughter Not hang out with 3 black men at Siem Reap in 2004 without supervision of an adult with them. It's not good for morality.

PhD doesn't make you have high morality. Hun Sen is a killer we know that.
If Hun Sen is bad, it's doesn' make Sam Rainsy a good man.

In reality, when cambodian's government have put Eng Chhay Eang as deputy responsible in the dispute of land grabbing. What Eng Chhay Eang has done difference than CPP? NADA...
I have witness a man like Monh Saphan whom really work hard to settle the dispute between villagers and CCP's member whom grab their land. What does people day? Nothing!!! If We make a society like that. It's won't change with Sam Rainsy or another person. Sam Rainsy is as bad as others persons. All He has in mind is revenge. Did He ever thank Mr Ok Socheat helping him find a job at the early 90s, when he was a member of Funcinpec? Or did He ever mention? I think Cambodians should learn to say THANK, Like the north american.
