While denying that the SRP plans to boycott the general election, Eng Chhay Eang, SRP Secretary-general, indicated that his party will register with the NEC on 12 May 2008, the last day of registration. Eng Chhay Eang told the Kampuchea Thmei newspaper about the reason why the SRP decides to choose this date to register the party name, saying that this is the SRP habit in all the past election. According to Tep Nytha, the NEC secretary-general, up until 08 May, among the 57 parties registered with the Ministry of Interior, only 5 parties have registered with the NEC for the election: (1) the CPP, (2) the Sangkum Khmer Niyum party (Society Khmer prefer), (3) the Hang Dara Democratic movement party, (4) the Norodom Ranariddh Party, and (5) the Human Rights Party.

The SRP will not make it to the election. They are dying. Vote HRP or CPP.
