Dr. Chhim Phal Vorun, director of the institute for Civil Education and a Constitutional expert, gave an interview to The Mekong times regarding whether the monarchy can be abolished once again or not. He explained that “this issue must be divided into 2 parts. If we want to change the monarchy (i.e. replacing the monarchy by a republic), then we cannot do much because the constitution ties us to the monarchy. However, outside of the constitution, a revolution can be undertaken. There are two types of revolution: one that use the group power, and one that use the people power, i.e. the toppling revolution and the democratic revolution.” Dr. Chhim Phal Vorun added: “Like in Nepal, it was a democratic revolution, (the abolition of the monarchy) was not conducted within the constitution framework, but it was done by the population vote. Therefore, in Cambodia, (the abolition of the monarchy) cannot be undertaken within the framework of the constitution because the law ties us. Therefore, in the future, the abolition of the monarchy through the constitution cannot be performed. In order to preserve the durability of the monarchy, everybody must consider that the monarchy belongs to all of us. However, if Cambodia has only 2 to 3 parties which all claim that the monarchy is theirs alone, this situation in fact creates instability for the monarchy in Cambodia instead.”

Who said?!
Just watch and observe CAREFULLY (you might learn something new for the history just about to make a milestone!
Milestone of what? Dr. Vorum couldn't have said it better. The Monarchy belongs to all Cambodian and not just one or two parties.
7:03PM why don't Dr. Vorun said all parties have right to claim our Monarchy since it belong to us all and we are repecting and love it!
Why instead negatively stop us to claim that we belong to the monachy!
Can the fucking CPP of ah Kwach real say it is royalist and belong to the Monachy and support the king 100 %. OR AH KWACK HUN XEN NEED TO TALK LIKE AH YOUN AT THE BOTTOM OF THE MARKET!!!aH YOUKONG BAT PZA!

It has been clearly stated that royal members are cambodian citizens and human being.
Due to monarchy, they are entitled to a social previledge, however the previledge should be earned by doing good deeds, good merits or applied ETHICS.
If the monarchy wish to maintain that previledge, the royal commission has to set a standard for their behaviour for respect they should gain.
Without good role model in society, we are all the same and that applies to the royals as well.
As citizens, they have the rights to take part in any appropriate direction involving in politic.
The confusion is that we are mixed up with real human values and human decoration.
I hope one day we learn to grow out of this less intellectual confusion.

I'm Lon Nolian fool I give no fuck to Shihanouk ask his to mine! And I alway a Cabodian no Pret can take it away from me!

the other thing here is that "reigning monarchy" is prohibited from abdicate in order to change status or political position like in the 1950s and 1960s when our beloved ruling monarchy changed own position as please in order to participate in active politics. i mean as much we love our monarchy, that action was in fact an injustice for the citizen of cambodia and ought be prevented from occurring again in the history of cambodia. no one ought be above the constitution; this is how justice prevails for khmer citizens. and definitely one individual politician can not allow to self-abdicate in order to be replaced by a son or other relative in order to grib a hold of some other top political position. cambodian people saw that happened too many times in our modern and even past history; we do not need that again. once chosen to be a reigning monarchy, that status is for life like the the supreme court justice judges of the USA; that position is commissioned for life. same concept should be applied to the khmer monarchy as well. thank you.
