Cambodian opposition leader Sam RainsyPHNOM PENH (AFP) — Cambodian opposition parties have filed a complaint to King Norodom Sihamoni against election officials for allegedly preventing one million people from voting in last weekend's poll.
The opposition Sam Rainsy Party, Human Rights Party, and Norodom Ranariddh Party told the king that one million registered voters were cut from the rolls by National Election Committee (NEC) officials.
"This act is an intentional mistake which is committed by election officials," the parties said in the joint letter, relased late Wednesday.
"This is a serious mistake committed by NEC officials at all levels which prevented at least one million people from voting," the letter said, asking the king to find a way for them to cast ballots before the announcement of official election results.
Prime Minister Hun Sen's ruling Cambodian People's Party has claimed a landslide victory in Sunday's election, saying it captured at least 90 of the 123 seats in parliament. Final results of the poll are expected in September.
More than six million out of 8.1 million eligible voters cast ballots in the poll.
European Union election observers have said only about 50,000 could not find their names registered when they attempted to vote.
The NEC has denied opposition allegations that voters were left off the rolls on purpose.
International monitors said earlier this week that the election was flawed and did not meet key standards, despite a more peaceful campaign and improvements in the electoral process.
The opposition parties have rejected the results of the election and demanded a re-run of the poll.

If they were sincere about rejecting the election results, then they would have to refuse to take up the seats.
But the ruling party knows they are just playing a losing politics.

Or, did the US ambassador quietly called Mr. Hun Sen to congratulate him already?

If NEC committed serious mistake as claimed by Sam Rainsy (deleted 1 million voters), NEC Em Soursdey and Tep Nitha should resign. In the next five years, NEC should be re-created as a neutral one.

Would you seriously think that these son-of-Viet-bitch resign over the recent complicity committed by the de defacto government? I would highly doubted, so do others.
Again, as soon as the ruling party trumpeted their landslide victory in the general election, that's when our country became the communist era, and undoudbtedly bring back the domino effects of communism and ready to join their brothers Vietcong and the commi Chinese.
It is not Ah Scam Rainxy's job to complaint. It's up to a neutral observer. We all know losers will complaint over every little crap.

We don't exactly know what king father has done in the past.In school we learn to respect morarchy and the king,evern sangkum reasniyum.Frankly speaking,i don't believe what they've taught me at school,even some people told me about everything happen in cambodia.
In school we learned that Sihanouk is a hero in sangkum reasniyum,,but alots of people always said he is just vietcon puppet and one of person that bring khmer in to kampochea democracy.
Anyone known exactly what was happen in khmer recently history or can u tell me about what Sdach Da has done right and wrong in the past?

When you come up to 11 or 12 grade they will teach you how to analyse, and write cone and pro for the same subject!
So when you think that the time you ready to face the real world, use you skill to do the thinking to make judgement for yoursels as a responsible adult.
There are many book many therory you choose yourself boy and what is past no body real know!
Example: Your mome said your father was bad when out lat and have sex with hooker. Your father say he have to go to party with his boss so he can keep his job and just seat next to the hooker that belong to the boss. Who you are going to beleive boy???
