A renowned Thai newspaper which is leaning towards the Thai opposition party, reported an evil news claiming that Cambodians will be performing a magic rite at the Preah Vihear temple on 01 August in order to counter Thailand regarding the Preah Vihear temple dispute. Therefore, the newspaper called on Thai citizens to dress up in yellow color clothes – the color of Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej – in order to stop the Cambodian magic spell.
On 01 August, Chumteav Bun Rany Hun Sen will lead a delegation to the Preah Vihear temple to visit the troops and civilians there, as well as to perform a religious prayer asking for peace. The ceremony will be joined by all the 7 Buddhist patriarchs in the country.
The presence of Bun Rany which coincides with the evil news shows the bad intention of Thai extremists who are intensifying their propaganda without regards of their professional ethics.

The source above confirmed that such action is undertaken so as to prevent Thailand from demanding Preah Vihear temple and Koh Kut Island from Cambodia. Another source advised anti-government activists and PAD activists to wear yellow clothes, which represent the color of the Thai king, in order to counter the effect of the Cambodian magic masters.

You are right that Thai and Cambodia are both Buddhist.
First of all let me say about the Yellow shirt. As you saw in Thai TVs or any local/global mass communications since the past 2 years (60th year of commemoration for our King.
We wear the yellow shirt because this color is the color of birthday (Monday) of our beloved King Bhumibol Adulyadej that make us (thai people) feel good to be part of people under his monarch.
It is also a sign of our solidarity/unity Thai word call “Samakki”. Yellow is become our national color it also correspond to “Suvarnabhumi” means “Golden land” Yellow similar to Gold.
We usually wear the yellow shirt on Mondays but can be wear in everyday now. I think the scenery of mass of people in yellow shirt is very beautiful.
Why we love our King so much because he donate himself to develop his country and people in all aspects such as economy (sufficiency economy), education, philosophy etc. the same as previous ancestral kings. We proud of them all.
Some might think about the superstitious Yes, I don’t deny that this kind of believing is exist in Thailand but the superstitious believing is still exist to the people of all kind of cultures, SE asian-Thai, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia etc., South asian-India etc, Fareast-China Japan even in Europe or Africa. The believing is not depend on what age you are.
As you mention about the disputed area, all of things should be based on the right documents and international conduct. Thai insist on the watershed and for the Cambodia you have your own criteria.
