FAILURE IN THE ELECTION COMPLAINT RESOLUTION PROCESS
SAYS A LOT ABOUT THE WHOLE ELECTION PROCESS
SAYS A LOT ABOUT THE WHOLE ELECTION PROCESS
The way electoral complaints are handled or mishandled is an integral part of the election process that international observers are supposed to monitor. There was only one international observer left today in Cambodia. He was from the European Union Election Observation Mission.
Today was the final day of the complaint resolution process following Voting Day of July 27. None of the opposition's numerous complaints has been properly dealt with. Over the last four weeks following Voting Day, both the National Election Committee (NEC) and the Constitutional Council (CC) have dismissed all the opposition's requests for re-vote or vote recount in spite of irrefutable evidence of massive fraud. http://tinyurl.com/4eegak
This failure in the election complaint resolution process says a lot about the whole election process…
The following is an excerpt from letters that the Sam Rainsy Party and the Human Rights Party have just written to signatories of the 1991 Paris Peace Agreements on Cambodia.
The letter to France's President of the Republic is in French http://tinyurl.com/56b3xl
The letter to Indonesia's President of the Republic is in English http://tinyurl.com/6ka6x4
France and Indonesia were co-chairs of the Paris International Conference on Cambodia which led to the signing of the Paris Peace Agreements on October 23, 1991.
"An acceptable resolution of a number of our electoral complaints should be through the holding of a re-vote or, at least, a vote recount in a limited number of constituencies (provinces or municipalities) where the opposition has come very close to winning one additional parliamentary seat according to figures provided by the NEC. However, the NEC, which is both judge and judged, has rejected practically all our complaints. Even the most important ones were only "examined" behind closed doors and very quickly dismissed as "groundless". As of today, the NEC has not allowed a single vote recount, let alone a re-vote, even when first reports of ballot counting from a given polling station conflict with each other and some of these reports seem to have been doctored. When the opposition submits a complaint with some evidence raising some doubt, why doesn't the NEC accept to jointly with the plaintiffs recount the ballots from any given ballot box from any given polling station so as to dissipate any doubt? Are they afraid that a vote recount even for a single ballot box from a single polling station – there are 15, 254 polling stations nationwide – could reveal anomalies/irregularities that are indicative of broader fraud commune-wide, province-wide and nationwide? The Constitutional Council, which is another CPP-controlled institution acting as a kind of Supreme Court, has so far upheld all the NEC's decisions to dismiss the opposition's complaints and requests. There is apparently no other reasons for the two institutions for not allowing any vote recount than the fear to see the CPP's "landslide victory" evaporate following proper verifications."

What did you expect???International observers did what they had to did, but of course in a very moderate manner. They seemed not to provoke arguement with the current government!!!!!!! What are their countries policies toward Cambodia?? Are they looking forward to have benefits from Cambodia's oil rather than to "blast" the election process??What can Cambodian people say?? You are SOLD based on several basis:
-Your leaders have sold you and your nation to linger to the power no matter how consequences the leaders will bring: Like the matter of Preah Vihear, the leaders sold the Nation for winning the election and the leaders are of no suspicion SELL THE TEMPLE TO SIAM FOR THEIR POWER. Joint Venture recently proposed by Cambodian government is manifest enough to prove that the current leaders SOLD THE NATION TO SIAM TO HAVE A LANDSLIDE VICTORY OVER THE ELECTION, YET GIVING CONCESSION TO SIAM. IT'S THE ACT OF TREASON, NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!!!
-Not only the temple has been sold, but Khmer will have to LOSE MORE AND MORE LAND regarding the declaring the disputed areas with Siam or YOUN the "white-zone"or "NO-man zone". You see the incident with the military standoff between Siam. It's the clearly proven example already. And when the leaders like leaders nowaday,least-concerned not committed, too-high self-pride and short-sighted vision of leadership, care least about setting up clean and healthy foundation for the nation; and least responsible and disciplined then the neighboring countries will never give up their evil plans and intention to SWALLOW THIS POOR NATION!!!!!!
WHAT CAN CAMBODIA SAY AND DO????
Bandit A Char Knoy
This time ,please all wait and see the last khmer ,hahaha Cambodian become to be minorities in their own country.
Khmer Cali.
Systematized corruption or killing will never be solved when the current system is still present!!!!
- I have heard Cambodian leaders talked about global issues as gasoline price the global issue; yet when the price has been extremely moving down, how about the price of gasoline in Cambodia??
- What I have seen from the government's responses to Siam's encroachment are of no doubt: hiding agendas with Siams and Thus selling the nation in order to HOLD TIGHT TO OWN POWER AND INTERESTS!!! How many kilometes more land of khmer will you sold and allow neigboring countries to seize?????
- I have heard alot the uncontrollable corruption throughout the country and in the entire governing system. Is it the "Nation's Mentality" that "corruption is proper way to survive in the lawless rule"??? Is that "committing and exposing to corruption in every day living routine" is that what you current leaders FIRMLY WANT PEOPLE TO GET USED TO AND ADAPT?????WHY?????
We have seen your YOUN-tail and spirit. What you care the most is your well-being of your power and interest regardless how poor and suffering the people are facing!!!!
I hope writers here would argue, but not in intimidating or killing tone.
Khmer oversea
Guess any SRP leaders helped them to settle down???? Sometimes because there has had no strong, committed opposition party, USUALLY FLIP FLOP LIKE THE CIPIPI, so people see no advantages whether someone else can do or will do any better, BUT TO DEAL WITH THEIR EMPTY STOMACH. TO SOLVE: One must stay by their side, say not by financial all the time but the spirit(NOT FLIP FLOP SPIRTI) and the assistance on healthcare, perhaps sometimes providing food and consistent manner DO THE BEST YOU CAN TO DISTINGUISH YOURSELF FROM THE CIPIPI AND LET THE PEOPLE FEEL THE EFFORT AND CARE YOU OFFER THEM!!!!
AGAIN NOT FLIP FLOP METHODS. CONSISTENCE AND GOOD WILL WILL SHED LIGHT AND BRING ABOUT THE DIFFERENCES!!!!!
I agree with no flip flop methods. Cambodia has so much land and why not try ... everyone will own equal size of land. Whoever own the most land will be taxed and given to the poor.
Give them a promise that no children will be starved or sleep without roof over their head. Cambodia will be mordernised in a faster way like any other developed countries.
Why there is not a debate on sam rainsy replacement in the head of the party?
A new person in the head of the party of sam rainsy 's party can help the democratic opposition to advance in Cambodia.
Sam rainsy in place, it is still the failure assured in coming five years!
great expectations or perfect expectations is sometimes really hard to achieve if not impossible. let's not let trivial thing gets out-of-hand. and like the old folklore, the boy who cries wolf, too much bluffing can make one ungullible. let that be a good example for the opposition party, sometime! shame on them for crying wolf once too many times already; it's not only getting old, but also makes one loses credibility. maybe they ought to change their name from opposition party to mr. perfection party! don't forget the majority of khmer people have spoken through their votes. now that is the real, concrete evidence. thank you! god bless cambodia.
