On this second day of the new NA session, only 94 MPs (out of a total of 123 MPs) were present to elect the NA president, vice-presidents, chair and vice-chair of the NA committees, under the presidency of Phnom Penh CPP MP Chea Soth, the dean of the MPs. SRP and HRP MPs were noted for their absence. At the exit of the morning session, Hun Sen revealed during a press conference that internal strife within the SRP is taking place, following yesterday’s participation by Sam Rainsy to the NA inaugural session – a session which Sam Rainsy earlier promised to boycott. Hun Sen also indicated that there would be fight between the two opposition parties that could lead to an explosion of their alliance.

Hun Sen added that the last minute decision made by Sam Rainsy to take part in the NA inaugural ceremony without warning Kem Sokha, his ally, led to the latter’s rage.

Hun Sen also revealed that Kem Sokha wanted his 2 MPs to be sworn in this morning, but such maneuver was “not possible,” following Hun Sen’s consultation with the NA. Hun Sen proposed to the HRP MPs to wait until the new CPP MPs occupy their seat first, so that they can all swear in together.

Sam Rainsy and Kem Sokha could not be contacted over the phone.

Heng Samrin, the CPP honorary president, maintained his position as president. He will be joined by Nguon Nhel and Say Chhum as vice-presidents. Say Chhum will be replacing Hong Sun Huot as the NA second vice-president. Following the vote, the NA gave their confidence to Hun Sen’s new government – the detailed composition of which is not revealed to the news media yet.

Two political parties (ie. SRP & HRP) entitles to have different opinions because they are two different parties. So it is normal.

It had been said, and it will be done.

Kem Sokha was secretly told by PM Hun Sen not to attend the ceremony in an effort to foster a mistrust, which will delude and deceive the SRP party; also, it will eventually split them (in favor of the ruling party). The strategy was formulated and devised by PM Hun Sen's advisors.

Difference opinions better than everyone put their hands up. That is the different between communist and non-communist states.

No, not always, some opinions will only drag the country backward to Year-Zero, and we don't want that to happen again in Srok Khmer.

Hun Sen & His clique spend too much time on dividing & Conquering the Opposition Party than on preventing Cambodia being the poorest country in the World (166th among 180).
Why they need to weakened more Opposition Party already fragile by his own tactic "Divide & Conquer". He has all Power now in his hand to do everything what he want (with his 'facade of Democracy' means). Why he want more ? Why continue to corrupt when he and his clique already become multi-millionair already. Poor Cambodians....

A "used-to" Cambodian's history.

SRP betrayed Kem Sokha and the people to attend the NA meeting. The public sees clearly who is a better man, it's clear that Rainsy is not a man of his words, he has no integrity.

By the way, it was Rainsy and Eng Chhay Eang who went to Kith Meng's house and Kith Meng gave them money and demanded that SRP join the NA meeting on the 24th. SRP has been taking money from Kith Meng, so he has to listen to Kith Meng's demand.

Sam Rainsy has alway negotiated with CPP through the backdoor. You idiotic supporters of SRP do not know anything. SRP has taken a lot of money from Kith Meng and Eng Chhay Eang is the person to mediate between CPP and SRP all these times. That's why Rainsy can never disagree with Eng Chhay Eang because he brings money to SRP. YOu stupid supporters living in abroad means nothing to Rainsy or SRP, he only listens to Eng Chhay Eang.

Get your facts straight.

"Former CPP member high-ranking official", you're an idiot, if you want to save Rainsy's face and attack Kem Sokha you need to come up with better lies or tactic.

What idiot would believe that you're a former or current cpp official? if you are why would you tell this secret to everyone? your lie is not logical. I notice your english is pretty good, are you a senior official of SRP? or are you one of those supporters living in the u.s.? hahaha. good english, but stupid argument.

In the evening of Sept. 23 SRP and HRP discussed about the swearing in. The two allies agreed to continue the boycott.

Then the morning of Sept. 24 Sam Rainsy called Kem Sokha and told him that SRP's MPs and him are going to the swearing in now; come and join. The time was already late for Kem Sokha and his 2 MPs to get ready (I could see that). HRP decided to keep boycott.

During the lunch time on the same day, Sept 24, Kem Sokha and his 2 MPs came to SRP head quarter for a meeting with Rainsy and his MPs. SRP decided to go for the swearing in - in the afternoon (not the morning) and HRP decided to stand firm.

I do not know who cheated whose. But I know that Sam Rainsy planned to join the swearing in from the beginning no matter what. But he had to try everything he could first.

Maybe Kem Sokha is too slow to play the game with Sam Rainsy. Since he was one step behind, he then decided to continue the boycott. Maybe, I don't know.

I let you the readers make your own judgement. Have a nice day.

This clearly shows what and who Sam Rainsy really is: a turncoat, a dog who doesn't bite. Please notice that he didn't give an interview either. This should be the end of Sam Rainsy. I wouldn't be surprised if the party eventually will change its name and Son Chhay will emerge as the party president.

With people like this Hun Sen doesn't need to split the opposition parties. They are too small to begin with, anyway.
