The National Assembly secretariat began preparations for a swearing-in ceremony to be held later this month for incoming parliamentarians, following the official announcement of election results Tuesday.
The National Assembly meeting, slated for Sept. 24, will pave the way for the selection of the National Assembly president and the prime minister, as well as the chairmen of nine commissions of the Assembly and the passage of the internal rules.
"We are being very careful about the security system, especially limiting the passage for National Assembly staff, parliamentarians and for the leadership and the king," Leng Penglong, secretary-general of the National Assembly, told VOA Khmer.
King Norodom Sihamoni will preside over the ceremony.
National Assembly security will guard within the grounds of the building, while the Ministry of Interior will be tasked with securing the area outside the compound, Leng Penglong said.
The ceremony will also include invitations to distinguished guests, including embassy representatives and international agencies, he said.
The National Election Committee announced official election results Tuesday, giving 90 of 123 National Assembly seats to the ruling Cambodian People's Party, 26 to the Sam Rainsy Party, three to the Human Rights Party, and two each to Funcinpec and the Norodom Ranariddh Party.
Opposition leaders Sam Rainsy and Kem Sokha said members of their parties will boycott the swearing-in ceremony, in an attempt to continue their complaints of voter fraud to the international community.
Sam Rainsy plans to leave for Paris on Wednesday, followed by Kem Sokha, who will leave for France on Thursday. The two will travel together to Brussels, New York and Washington DC, carrying claims that July's national election was not free and fair.

Vote or No Vote, Hun Sen is still there!
Never having fair or just election happening in Cambodia. NEC and Constitutional Committees are just the CPP's dropping.
SRP and HRP have done the right thing, in the right time, and right legal movement.
Consider vote-fraud by these 6 categories:
1. The NEC passed the duties to the communals and villages heads to register the voter-names is intentionally to monitor the votes for CPP.
2. Psychologically understandable the truth through NEC's agents' speech such as: do accordingly to the legal system(sic), and importantly to divert the attention of Cambodian peoples by appealing them to check their names immediately this October to have rights to vote. This statement has been repeatedly mentioned by NEC because millions of Cambodian people lost their rights to vote.
3. These 7 irregularities are just the sample which are the primary evidences to point out many other offensive irregularities incompatible to the standard and fair election. Many other issues are uncountable such as vote-buying, public officalization to become CPP's active agents by forcing and intimidating, populatization of illegal Vietnamese immigrants to increase their votes, as well as to use national asset for the CPP's interest etc
4. Hun Sen organized national election solely in the intent of legitimizing his power in front of Cambodian people and international communities. In reality, Hun Sen will never quit from his job in any conditions until he is 90 years old. This is the REALITY.
6. Why NEC and CC promptly rejected the complaints even though one ballot-box dare not to recount. This means, NEC and CC have been clearly known before hand that there are much more fraudulent vote-ballots in that box.

CPP wins, wins, wins!!! Yahooooo!!!
I don't understand what SRP & HRP meant by saying that they don't recognize the result of the election while they are ready to take oath on 25 Sept, just a day after CPP's parliamentarians attending the first session of the new Assembly.
This makes no sense indeed. And The move just confuses people and their followers...
To convene people to continue to beleive the oposition, they must reject just the result but also not to accept any seat in the parliament...
Perhaps, Mr. Rainsy and Mr. Sokha have been aware of no international support despite their complain have been brought up for the attention of the concerned UN body.
To my understanding and as I betted a few times since last month, SRP and HRP clans would join the parliament. Now, it proved but they just chose a different approach to legitimate themselves as members of parliament.
Taking oath with CPP members or with separation from CPP make nothing different. It's just a childish politic. If they moved to the same end, why don't they negotiate with CPP to take some positions in the parliament, so they can play significant role in promoting democracy and could advance their popularity for the next election?
Just to remind that swearing in without the presence of the King is against the constitution...That's a worse scenario for Rainsy and Sokha.
Khmer Oversea
Ah Hun Sen is the looser for sure.
The animal Hun Sen is the looser.
The prime monster with third grade education.
Over 20 years Cambodia ruled by the uneducated government (CPP) turned the country to the lawless country and the poorest country in the world.
Corruption every corner from the grand corruption to street level corruption on the lives of the poor.
The rich and powerful people abuse and lands grabbing from the poor.
This happen to the poor Cambodians everyday lives.
