SRP: No Honest Person Or Institution Is Stupid Enough To Recognize The Results Of A Sham Election

NO HONEST PERSON OR INSTITUTION IS STUPID ENOUGH
TO RECOGNIZE THE RESULTS OF A SHAM ELECTION

Today the CPP-controlled National Election Committee (NEC) proclaimed the "official results" of the July 27, 2008 national election that was manipulated on an unprecedented scale by Cambodia's ruling party. But no honest person or institution is stupid enough to overlook the massive election fraud and to recognize the results of a sham election.

The European Union Election Observation Mission (EU EOM - Cambodia) in its July 29 statement points that "2008 National Assembly Elections have fallen short of a number of key international standards for democratic elections."

The Sam Rainsy Party (SRP) has been collecting worrying evidence of election fraud since Voting Day and every day brings more proof of electoral fraud of national scale.

Even though, compared to previous elections, fraud in 2008 took on a more sophisticated and more subtle form, serious long-term observers were able to detect it, especially fraud related to manipulation of voter lists which took place before Voting Day and outside the polling stations.

We have been gathering an ever increasing amount of evidence of such manipulation of voter lists, which we have published on our website http://tinyurl.com/4eegak. The evidence presented is largely what inexperienced short-term observers could not see in a sophistically rigged election (See our July 29 statement: "What [naive and lazy] election observers did not see in a rigged election").

Our Web site http://tinyurl.com/4eegak is updated on a daily basis and provides more and more irrefutable evidence that the July 27, 2008 was really a sham election.

The countless and various irregularities exposed on our Web site http://tinyurl.com/4eegak do not reflect isolated and fortuitous incidents but show the general pattern of a massive and systematic election fraud, which led today to "official election results" that seriously distort the will of the Cambodian people.

In democracy society, no one cares whether or not an honest person recognized the result of an election? We only care whether or not the majority (4-5 millions people) recognized the result of an election.

Vote or No Vote, Hun Sen is still there!
Never having fair or just election happening in Cambodia. NEC and Constitutional Committees are just the CPP's dropping.

SRP and HRP have done the right thing, in the right time, and right legal movement.

Consider vote-fraud by these 6 categories:

1. The NEC passed the duties to the communals and villages heads to register the voter-names is intentionally to monitor the votes for CPP.

2. Psychologically understandable the truth through NEC's agents' speech such as: do accordingly to the legal system(sic), and importantly to divert the attention of Cambodian peoples by appealing them to check their names immediately this October to have rights to vote. This statement has been repeatedly mentioned by NEC because millions of Cambodian people lost their rights to vote.

3. These 7 irregularities are just the sample which are the primary evidences to point out many other offensive irregularities incompatible to the standard and fair election. Many other issues are uncountable such as vote-buying, public officalization to become CPP's active agents by forcing and intimidating, populatization of illegal Vietnamese immigrants to increase their votes, as well as to use national asset for the CPP's interest etc

4. Hun Sen organized national election solely in the intent of legitimizing his power in front of Cambodian people and international communities. In reality, Hun Sen will never quit from his job in any conditions until he is 90 years old. This is the REALITY.

6. Why NEC and CC promptly rejected the complaints even though one ballot-box dare not to recount. This means, NEC and CC have been clearly known before hand that there are much more fraudulent vote-ballots in that box.

I support H.E Sam Rainsy. We will not recognize this result. We spend a lot of money by hoping that we may get more seats. We will recognize this result untill some problems are solved such as share us some chairmen of Assembly Commissions and at least a vice president of National Assembly as H.E Son Chhay declared..

I don't understand what SRP & HRP meant by saying that they don't recognize the result of the election while they are ready to take oath on 25 Sept, just a day after CPP's MP members attending the first session of the new Assembly.

This makes no sense indeed. And The move just confuses people and their followers...

To convene people to continue to beleive the oposition, they must not only reject the result but also not to accept any seat in the parliament...

Perhaps, Mr. Rainsy and Mr. Sokha have been aware of no international support despite their complain have been brought up for the attention of the concerned UN body.

To my understanding and as I betted a few times since last month, SRP and HRP clans would join the parliament. Now, it proved but they just chose a different approach to legitimate themselves as members of parliament.

Taking oath with CPP members or with separation from CPP make nothing different. It's just a childish politic. If they moved to the same end, why don't they negotiate with CPP to take some positions in the parliament, so they can play significant role in promoting democracy and could advance their popularity for the next election?
