Angelina Jolie Knew She Was Destined To Adopt A Cambodian Boy

ANGELINA JOLIE knew she was destined to become a mum during her first trip to Cambodia - because she flew out of the country thinking she had left something behind.

The actress insists she still doesn't believe in fate, but there was something that lured her back to Cambodia, where she met and fell for her first adopted child, Maddox.

She tells WENN, "I went to that country and left that country feeling like I'd left something behind. I went back to that country on a humanitarian mission and was playing with blocks with a little kid and felt, 'My son is here.'

"It was the strangest feeling. I woke up one day and they were going to introduce me to a kid and I wondered how I would feel, and the moment I saw him I knew I was his mother.

"I can't explain it and I don't know why I chose that country but it was absolutely meant to be."

Geraldine Cox said the same thing in her book, My Khmer Heart. She now looks after some 300 Khmer orphans.

In God's all seeing eyes Cambodia too is destined to be great once again. The glorious Khmer Empire was great for many centuries. All the love God reserves for the most hapless people in S.E.A. it is the Khmer that He is embracing and blessing to be strong and most protected. Thank you, Angelina, and welcome to the family of a great nation to be. One nation under God, the Khmer. And we thank God for all His love.

You are crazy. God does not favor any country besides Israel. If you think he even heard of Cambodia, you're dreaming.

If you think god loves only Israel, that means Jesus. But here, Cambodia, we're buddhist. God means love, and he loves anyone even other nation but not only you (Israel). You're that a day-dreaming!! not anyone.

How interesting that she was allowed to adopt at a time when Cambodia was under U.S. scrutiny for improper adoptions tainted by baby stealing and baby selling. The U.S. immigration law allows "orphans" to be adopted but it defines orphans in such a way that, in my view, it creates the environment for exploitation. The definition is that a child is an orphan for immigration purposes under U.S. law is if the child has no parents because of the death or disappearance of, abandonment or desertion by, or separation or loss from both parents. Abandonment is not when the child's natural parents signed affidavits that indicated their intent to release custody of the child to the petitioner so that the child could be adopted.
I really don't know what the situation was with this particular adoption but I have heard the the natural mother (Khmer) is still around.

No one should disrespect the natural birth mother nor do thing to hurt the adapted Mom like Miss Angelina Jolie.

Let's face it, the natural mother had nothing and perhaps was very ill at the time and unable to care for a child. Wouldn't it be so nice to have someone like Ms. Jolie to come and rescue the baby? By all means, Maddox was the most lucky baby in the world!. He was picked up by a real Angel ( Ms. Jolie ). He is safe, happy and have everything he ever wanted plus those incredible love from his new Mother and her husband to be.... Brad Pitt.

To the natural mom, if you really love Maddox, please stay away or leave him alone. You do have love for him of course, but Maddox deserves more.. The last thing he wants or the world likes to see, is for you to make trouble and try to get him back. By now Maddox doesn't know you and you must understand that. It's the wrong move and at the wrong time. Please don't destroy his new- found happiness.

Adoptions by foreigners should not be based on economic wealth of the natural parents. Many people have little but Khmer people are still raising their children and the Khmer extended family always cares for children within their family unit. What is questionable is the U.S. Immigration law that allows children to be adopted when the parents are poor. This policy creates the environment for exploitation.
