it is such a controversial holiday in cambodia because to some people, it is a liberation, but to others, it is an occupation of cambodia, which is cambodia's historical enemy, anyway. how to win khmer's heart and mind! maybe, it's all just political shenanegan stuff! god bless cambodia.

The key here is not to listen to tomato pickers or donut makers. the truth of the matter is at one time the Khmer was slave to KR regime, and after Viet liberation, they were free.

Furthermore, you can't liberate anyone by sitting on your obese arse in Vietnam. You have to hop into a fighter jets and tanks, go into the country and kick arses, and you don't come back until all of the terrorists are no longer a threat.

You went a bit overboard calling the oversea folks donut makers making it derogatory. I know that khmer overseas do own a lot of donut stores but let's not call names here. I know this guy has no bad intention. But, the folks that see Jan. 7 as Vietnamese occupation, let me ask you. If Viet invades Cambodia in 1975, then do you mean you were fine with KR regime then? If you're not fine under the KR regime, it is a liberation, isn't it? A lot of overseas folks become cynical for lying to themselves and others on this matter. Whatever the intention of the Viet in rescuing Khmer from the destruction of Pol Pot's hand, they are the liberators along with those khmer soldiers who defected from Pol Pot and came to liberate your dying asses, people. If you were alive during KR era and you can't see that fact, you are living in denial, my friend. Btw, if you are so ignorant of modern Cambodia, let me tell you. I just came to visit again and it has changed so much for the better. Some of you overseas kids might even be outdressed by them Phnom Penh kids, seriously lol.
