i don't blame the gov't action as some people don't know how to blog constructively. instead, yield to vulgar languages and all sorts of name-calling deems unnecessary and very inappropriate, to say the least. of course, there are some readers that are very contructive and very appropriate as well. some evil people tend to take advantage of the open blog website as they seem not to be able to control their demeaning and derogatory name-calling on gov't official, etc... without any respect to their position, whether they like it or not! gov't official, anywhere and in any country should reserve the rights to be respected and protected from the unruly public, and cambodian officials should be given that same respect. sometimes, people need to know their limit. of course, it is the free speech thing, here; however, some there ought to be some sort of punitive measure to stop those who seemed out of control. thus, i blame that someone in the gov't takes such action.

Hun Sen was born in a poor family without having propre food on the table. But after serving Vietnam very well, his name has become magic to most coward people. These coward people can get rich overnight if they serve Hun Sen well. That included former self declare King Sihanouk. If these coward men and women inclused all the ugly royal families dare to upset Hun Sen, they will fall from their grace such as Keo Puth Reasmey and his wife. To combat with these evils, Cambodian need to be strong and tough and stay behind with SRP and HRP. If Khmer Soft, khmer will be bended and will be slaves. If khmer strong Khmers will live with pride and dignity.

If closing ki-media web is the real case, it's an unfortunate thing to hear. I like this site. Almost everyday I stop by and read the news. That's how I keep connected with Cambodia. If the bad comments are the main cause, is there anyway that Ki-media team can do to avoid the close-down?

With the purge of Pol Pot, they fled to Vietnam for rebellions. In 1979, they took all the properties from Phnom Penh residents as their winning loto. They have destroyed alll Cambodian forests , gems stones, mines, lands and islands. If you promote yourself as "bringing sensitive information and news" from Cambodia, how come we never heard anything on Sam Rainsy. I am an independent with CPP lean but that doesn't mean I don't listen to what you have to say. I come here often to see what you have to say about the CPP government and I listen. But, I never once saw a post about any form of criticism of Sam Rainsy. It would be sad to see you go as I am unlike a lot of people like to see different opinions on things and I absolutely don't make up my mind base on affiliation and definitely before thinking. But, I think you start to take yourself as a real credible political critic by not being biased against just the government but be a critic to every political party, you would see no threat of such thing that happened to ever happen to you. While I understand that some KI Media contributers are based in Cambodia and thus vulnerable, I cannot see how the government would be able to shut down this site.
Even if contributers inside Cambodia don't want to take the risk of continuing this very valuable work, I believe there is nothing the government could do to prevent contributers from outside Cambodia to keep it up.
Please do consider all options and try to keep it going. I am not Khmer or Cambodian but read KI Media every day multiple times. I don't care much for the red and blue color and many of the added headings are over the top but it is a valuable service to collect news content from other sides. I also found that KI Media has over started to add additional value such as translations from Khmer language newspapers, letters, documents, photos and other materials not easily found on the internet.
Thanks and please do keep it up! I would deeply regret if some day KI Media was indeed down. I believe it would be a very substantial loss to everyone who cares and seeks information about Cambodia.

I am not suprised if the government will finally shutdown your site. What suprises me is that it has not done so sooner. Depending on where we stand, we can argue or speculate that the main reason this site is still active is either because the governement does not have the necessary resource to shut it down, or because it understands and tolerates certain level of freedom of expression.
It is highly commendable that your team has done an excellent job to inform our citizens of issues relating to our country, or affecting the well-being of our population, and most importantly you do it factually and professionally. I do however believe that there are certain responsiblities or measures that you should proactively take or improve in order to ensure not just the survival, but the continued success of your site, and to take it to the next level.
Here are some measures I would recommend. Controlling the content of anonymous comments. You can discuss with your site administrator, I assume Google in this case, about installing some real-time filter which scans and rejects any anonymous comments that contains inappropriate words or phrases. If such measure is technically unavailable or cost prohibitive, there is nothing wrong to instruct your site administartor completely disable the “anonymous posting” feature of your site. This is an extreme measure, but it is better than to have the site shut down by the governement because of the inappropriate language.
It should be understood that controlling the content of anonymous comments is not a form of censorship, but a responsible way to limit the rampage language abuses. In my humble view, these abuses have no place in this forum and can not certainly be tolerated under the freedom of expression.
I hope the recommended measures are acceptable to all parties – the readers, KI-Media team and the government. The readers play a key role in the success or potential demise of this site. I trust all readers behave themselves constructively.

Historically, Sihanouk for the hunger of power abdicated, quit being a "royalist", declared himself to be just a plain, simple ordinary Khmer citizen, joined the Khmer Rouge which by default agnostics if not atheist and may subsequently contributed to if not instrumental in the killing and death of almost 2 millions Khmer population....and to this day sides with the Viet and the Viet puppet Hun Sen when back then Sihanouk himself coorporated with the Viet using Khmer land as part of Ho Chi Minh trail, then scorned the Viet for being ungrateful to him...Sihanouk had never been re-crowned and/or re-throned.

KI Media – I hate to say it, but legally speaking the government is right to shut down your site. You can not simply absolve yourself from what your readers wrote. You bears certain responsibility with regard to those relentless personal attacks or/and deragotory comments posted by your readers. So think again. In Cambodia, there's 87% of the people are farmers, 35% of the people live under poverty line with $0.50 per day. Foreign debts are high as 3 billion dollars, annual foreign aid is approximately $550 million dallars, and GDP per year is $350 million. So basically, per year's budget is approximately $1 billion dollars.
Do you think we want these people to control the whole country forever where crimes, drugs, prostitution, impune killings of stars and journalist, severe poverty, landless farmers, gangs, innocence are wasted forever for nothing or the betterment of a few elites?
So stop the excuse of anybody of using derogatory language in order to shut down our eyes, ears, mouth, and nose about what's actuall going wrong in Cambodia in general?

Dear KI, if this site is shut down because of terrorist threat, you definitely had it coming. I’ve been on here for about a year or more now and there were instances where people posted terrorist-like threats to the head of state of Cambodia. Now imagine if there is some site with people posting stuff about assassinating US president Bush. That site wouldn’t be shut at all but the people that posted that threats would get a late night visit from the US secret service and the FBI for sure. Your freedom as a citizen is limited people. The second Constitution of the US aka the Bills of Rights give the power to the people and limit the federal government but the first Constitution grants all the right to the federal government. To put in layman terms, your freedom as a citizen is not unlimited. The federal government will crack you down if they feel it is a threat to the national security. People have been jailed indefinitely in Guatanamo Bay prison for such allegation. So, if the Cambodia government feels there is a threat from this site because posters expressed the threat such as assassination to the head of state, etc… I think they would be able to shut KI down on the basis of terrorist threats presented on here also. I have taken a few law classes and your freedom is not unlimited, people. Be careful what you do and say. Just a piece of advice to all those who think just because they live in a place like the US, you have the all the privileges and rights to do anything. Especially in the period after 9/11, they can send you to Guatanamo Bay and lock you up indefinitely without respecting the 5th Amendment of the Bills of Rights where it says no one can be jailed without due process in law, meaning the federal government has to have an indictment from the Grand Jury in order to lock you up but in the post 9/11 age, they would ignore that part of the Constitution and lock you up forever without even charging you. With all due respect to the high ranking official, I don't support the shut down of this site. As a supporter of the Cambodian government, I think a site like this serve to show to the world the bias and ignorance of opposition and its supporters and to show why they are not fit to country whose bilateral relationships with Asian countries, including VN, is essential to the growth and stability of Cambodia.
I think it's good thing that anonymous creators of KI-Media are not running Cambodia, or our country would be in a lot worse shape than it is.
KI-Media is biased in favor of Westerners and do not publish many articles written by Chinese and Vietnamese journalists. I get much of my news from China and VN and I can say that they're more objective than the Western sources.

They could not foresee the total weight of revolution and it collapsed and killed many of us.

It was our great Khmer Kings who built the great Khmer Empire until relentless wars from neighboring nations that took our strength and greatness. King Sihanouk has done good things to our nation as well, ie, the independence he fought against Frence for our nation. And he won the tough battle.
Once again, the dept of the politics is so profound and too complex. Therefore ordinary citizens, those who have not been in the inner circle of politics for so many years, should not be insulting to the present government and/or the royal family for they are as patriotic. They do the tough and complex things for the well being of our nation. And the "things" have never been easy to accomplish.
