The number of Vietnamese tourists visiting Cambodia jumped nearly 75 percent in the first ten months of 2008, coming in at No. 2 for the first time in 15 years, officials said Tuesday.
The 176,600 Vietnamese visitors, up from 102,577 in the same period last year, was second only to the number of Korean visitors, 234,880, according to figures from the Ministry of Tourism.
Attributing the increase to improved Cambodian infrastructure and Vietnamese livelihoods, Tourism Minister Thong Khon said Tuesday most visitors went to Phnom Penh and Siem Reap.
Trinh Ba Cam attributed the rise to “a situation in Cambodia where there is enough stability and peace.”
The rise in Vietnamese visitors also parallels the rise in Vietnamese investment in the country, mainly in agriculture, hydroelectricity, telecommunications and banking.
Overall, Cambodia’s tourism sector—the second-most important engine for the economy—saw more than 2 million visitors in 2007, bringing with them $1.4 billion in revenue.

They can visit as much as they want too but Cambodia has to be very careful with Yuons. It could not be trustworthy neighbor since the history already shows us about the greedy Yuons encroachment. If Cambodia not cautious, the history could be repeated. Help is help but not to compensate the land to them 'cause we used to help them in the past too.

Exactly. Remember most of the people that pose stuff on here are overseas and especially US. Apparently, the lesson of tolerance and anti-discrimination are not learned by these folks at all. I hope these old folks don't pass such mentality down to their children. I have met a few Khmer kids in college and thank god they are living in a multicultural place and are not racist as some of their old folks.
I believe in destiny being a Buddhist. Hypothetically, if Vietnam is destined to take over Cambodia, it will happen. That being said, doesn't mean I would stand by and watch them do it but if it has to be credible like they actually take over. Not bullshit conspiracy theory by Khmer who still thinks Khmer Krom and Surin belonds to Cambodia.
I wonder sometimes if these self-proclaimed 100% Khmer that hate Viet so much ever gone to a Vietnamese food joint and eaten Vietnamese food. I'm pretty sure most of you have, especially in the US. I and other kids were once chased and almost got killed by those land robbers (Yuons) when I was 10 years-old harvesting rice in our farmland.
