Eleven veteran police officials were promoted to high positions within the Ministry of Interior Wednesday, in a reshuffle following the unexpected death of the national police chief in November.
“The promotions and appointments will reduce the violation of law and promote the respect of law,” Interior Minister Sar Kheng told a group of policy at a ceremony.
Police officials were appointed to posts as secretaries of state, a deputy chairman, the anti-drug authority, prisons and administration.
National police chief Hok Lundy died in a helicopter crash in Svay Rieng province in November and was replaced by Gen. Neth Savoeun.
Officials said Wednesday an investigation into the cause of the crash had found poor weather, including rain and lightning.

hey, welcome the training, cambodian style, on-hand job training for future leadership or managers. i don't think there's anything wrong with having people line up in the chain of order like this. after all, it is cambodia, and they tend to do things differently here. sorry, don't hate cambodia just because they do things differently from what you are getting used to in other parts of the world! please get used to it, this is cambodia. of course, khmer people strived to get better and to be worldly as well, however it may be not as fast as some people would like to see it, but it is happening for surely. god bless cambodia.
i have pride in khmerness. at least we are doing this with a style, a unique khmer style, perhaps. if it works, leave the system alone. remember, it is ok to be different culturally speaking. if the entire world is the same in terms of culture et... it would be a very boring place to be on planet. god bless cambodia.
ps: something has gotten to be unique to cambodia, somehow!
