According to information provided by the Kbal Trach police station, this domestic violence started with 15-liter of rice alcohol bought by the wife to sell at home. However, the husband invited over several of his friends and they drank all the wine while the wife was harvesting rice in the field. The police officer indicated the family house also sells wine and some spices for their survival.
On the day of the incident, the wife bought 15-liter of rice wine to sell to the villagers before they travel to their harvesting work or when they return home from a day of harvesting. On the same day, Voeun, the wife, went to harvest rice the entire day also. In the evening, when she returned home, she saw her husband and several of his friends drinking all the wine she bought for sale, she got mad and a dispute ensued with her husband. The police officers indicated that when his wife gave him a fit, the husband got angry and he rushed to pull her hair to beat her and intended to break her neck. At that moment, the wife started grabbing on to his penis, squeezed and bit it without mercy until the husband was so hurt and fell down, but he did not dare tell any neighbors about this incident and he did not go the hospital either. In the morning, the husband was found dead with his hand pitifully groping over his groin. The wife was arrested by the police and brought in to the station for questioning.
The latest report indicated that on 16 December, the couple above also had a dispute and the wife already bit her husband penis once already, but the incident was not fatal to him. However, on the second round of the fight, the biting and squeezing were more severe than the first time, and this led to his death.

Srey khmer!
well, i don't blame her for defending herself against his beating of her. it also goes to show that cambodia is still lack or weak in the enforcement of the domestic violence law, especially in rural areas. people need to be educated that beating other human being is not tolerated, man or woman. the children are the ones that hurt the most from this adult stupid fighting. cambodia needs a lot of help with straighten out the domestic violence law so the entire country can be educated about the penal code for doing so! it should not be tolerated, period. everyone should get involved and warn them of the consequences of domestic violence when they see one. this is how cambodia can make a paradigm change, by everyone taking proactive role to stop this dispecable domestic violence. this case may sound funny, but in reality, it's not as lives and children are affected. and some of the causes of domestic violence are drunkenness, gambling, and male chauvanism or male dominant thinking, to name a few. cambodia need to educate people on these issues! domestic violence should not be tolerated at all!
domestic violence can be prevented. once people recognized it, they should walk away or get help from someone neutral. otherwise, it will escalate if they don't act properly in order to prevent it from happen. usually, when people get angry they become violent. so, one way to prevent this from happening is to cool down or get away from the situation and just let it cool off. and by all means, do try to avoid such violence. should ask oneself this question: what is the use of having a domestic violence? especially if people don't want to get divorced or still love each other after they committed domestic violence, and why continue to live together as partners or husband and wife if domestic violence still goes on and on and on, non-stop? people need to think about it before they commit domestic violence. otherwise, there will never be stopped, especially if it is tolerated!
wow! this should make headlines all over the world that it happened in some rural area of cambodia!
yes, people should not tolerate domestic violence. if you tolerate it, it will continue to happen over and over again and again. if all else fails, people have to get a divorce, period, otherwise, don't complain about it! there are no good excuses to stay in the situation at all, no excuses whatsoever! adopt the western way such as getting a divorce, period. do not tolerate this dispicable act, period. this is where i draw the line, screw the tradition, here! now, how does that feel when the wife beat the man back? this is a classic case scenerio for all to think twice before beating your spouse!
it reminded me of how people or society in cambodia deal with thieves? they take law into their own hands by way of lynching to death the thieves by the time the police came to the rest rescue! i guess, domestic violence is as bad as being a thief that got lynched! think twice, it's not worth it!
think about it, your beating somebody's daughter/mother/ sister, etc; and that should not be tolerated, period!
