Vietnam: Senior General Pol Saroeun, deputy supreme commander and chief of the Joint Staff of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces [RCAF], defended his national-level doctoral thesis on military science after completing his four-year study that began in 2004 at the Dalat Military Academy of the SRV.
On the occasion of his 29 December 2008 thesis defense before the board of examiners consisting of Associate Professors Dr. Nguyen Duc Xe, Trung Thay Bin, Nguyen Kim Than, Nguyen Van Hoa, Nguyen Duan Tung, Nguyen Trong Thuong, and Trong Van Kvien, as well as several high-ranking Cambodian and Vietnamese officers, Snr. Gen. Pol Saroeun presented his thesis entitled "How the RCAF Organizes and Uses Forces in the Counteroffensive Campaign on the Terrain of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
"During the above thesis defense the board of examiners of the Dalat Military Academy posed several questions on issues concerning the tactics of counterattacking enemies on the terrain of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and all these questions were correctly explained in details to the point that it was accepted that this defense of the national-level military science doctoral thesis was a total success.
It should also be noted that the success of Snr. Gen. Pol Saroeun's thesis defense on that occasion was warmly approved and applauded by the board of examiners and the high-ranking Cambodian and Vietnamese officers who were present at this very solemn ceremony.

Is his thesis in Khmer or Vietnamese? Four years is typical to writing it in PHD program. Congratulation to him, even though, the degree granted by world's unrecognized scholars in Vietnam.
Congratulation to Dr. Pol. I would like to encourage more General to continue his study or update their education background.
Data of Cambodian military have been showed by Gen. Pol Sareoun for his thesis, how do you think about the secret of Cambodian Military???
In whatever language you did, this degree means a lot to you. Hopefully, there are more to follow your step.
His thesis was ghost-wtitten by some one , or by the yuon, just like Hun Xen's book.
Can we access a copy in a public library like other recognised PhDs ?

Gee! I thought everything related to Cambodian military matter must not be disclosed and be kept secret! And now look what happen now and AH Pol Saroeun put Cambodian military planning in paper for the Viet to see!
Oh well! Even AH Kiev Samphan Khmer Rouge has his thesis but when put into practice and the whole Cambodia turn into a killing field!
So when it is time to go to war and AH Pol Saroeun need not to participate in the Cambodian military planning because the enemies already knew what the hell he is going to do!

Do not worry about military ing/secret affairs within any Doctorate Theses... which produced by chamreourn Avichea Univ. PPenh,or any univ. offered to those Locals Phds... benerals...excellencies...
Those these are useless, nonesense at all... here some doctorate Lectures are offered by Msc. or Bsc degree lecturers who are well trained qualified.... many or all Doctorate theses obtained by them are not unreable and/or understandable....
As my experiences of educating in some unv. known world wide for Msc. the lecturer shall obtain Phd./and/or Professor prior to giving any lectures to Msc or Bsc student... But here/there we have multi-useless lecturers...
THOSE THESES were written by others who just play them as jokoing no any useful info. /data can be useful in those theses...
Some guys (or some the so-called educated people in Cambodia- including in TV/Radio News readers- article writers) who are awarded Phd or Hon. Phd. do not understand about "what is Phd. /what is Hon. Phd. what is Doctor..(medica DCoctor or who graduated from Medic. Faculty in PPenh after 7 years of study..
They know only the Term " Badit"which probably mean DOCTOR or Bandit=Robber or or any equivalent.."
But we still have alot of educated persons here who know well about Eduction system world wide BUT the do not dare to talk any thing about this...just keep quiet no ideas
