Prime Minister Hun Sen speaks on Wednesday after receiving an honorary doctorate degree in economic from the Woosuk University of the Republic of Korea. Ra Jong-yil, president of the university, handed over a certificate to Hun Sen at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at a ceremony attended by hundreds of government officials.

Prime Minister Hun Sen receiving an honorary doctorate degree in crime against humanity. It is a shame, he never studied.... he is studied to kill his own people....
He is also supposed to be able to speak Korean to qualify for this honour. Can he? If not, how can he receive an Hon. PhD from this unknown South Korean university as well as other academic brothels?
What about other people who have worked hard to achieve this economic growth in the face of corruption by Hun Sen's henchmen? When things go well he takes all the credits, when things go badly he blames others. That should be the kind of PhD he deserves.
I wonder why all the high ranking officer never study but they always get higher degree :-/.

Why some of you are so negative about Mr. Hun Sen. He is a PM of Cambodia and was elected by the Khmer people. We all have the honor to respect the tittle of PM. You want or not, you don't have another choice.
That's right, but Ah Pleu-oversea is jealous at successful people because they don't have a prayer to be anything or anyone for generations to come.
stupid 4:43PM, to get degree doesn't require you to speak the lanquage you mentioned. Plus, this is just honor PHD. It is normal. Many world leaders get the degree vithout going to that school. Thaksin got honor PHD from a japanese university too.
But he still good khmer leader than your opposition party.So he did everything great for khmer people for living withouth war and without living like pol pot.

I don't understand why some Khmer oversea still think Hun Sen is god ... Well I would admire your master Hun Sen if there is not much corruption, prostition, AID, drug, land grabbing, treating some poor people like animal, in court no justice, and etc. I hope someday you realize and think better.

Dr Hun Sen, whatever your title, you’re not qualified for it. Those PhD awards don’t even worth the papers on which they are printed. If you don’t believe me, ask those Hanoi or Korean universities if they let you teach at their institutions.
11:21PM, ok, i see, I find your stupidity. So you just escape Cambodia by fake marriage for getting Visa to live in US recently (hehe)? i thought you are a victim of Khmer Rouge regime. If you don't have intention to come back home to Cambodia by excuse that Cambodia is corrupted, bad (I think these are among reasons that Khmers oversea use for excusing)...Ok enjoy your life there. But educate yourself there, don't just work at factory at night to earn money and act like elite or superknowledge when coming to visit Cambodia.
11:38 PM, if he asks, I'm sure they will let him. It's normal. From his carreer as PM (bad or good), he just make speech about his experice on Cambodia politics, it can be labelled as LECTURE. Don't be biased toward him. Ranaridh who is thought to teach at french university, he was just gave lectures on his experiences on cambodian politics too. I don't think Ranaridh is better than Hun Sen at giving speech. For language, he can hire translation coordinator. By the way, I saw many cases, some PhD holders from abroad (some even from famouse university) are asshole.
11:47PM – I (11:38PM) appreciate your frank comment and glad to see some people in the forum able to argue rationally. Knowing PM Hun Sen characters and temper, I am concerned that these awards may do more harm than good to the country. These awards can lead him to wrongly believe that he is academically or intellectually superior to his countrymen, and hence disregard advices/critics from his advisors/opponents.
12:06, I'm 11:47PM. Sometimes, if people think they are elites or superior, they have to do something better than others. This might make him to do good thing. Maybe, you remember too, in 1996 or 1997, his political rivals called him uneducated PM and hold no title. At that time, due to this he acts aggressively against those. If he hold PHD, there might be something in his brain that"i am Bandith now, I must do something logically or rationally." By the way, Hun Sen is worth getting the degree in experice, but not in theoretical polotics or economics. I think he knows about that by himself too it's why he hires many advisors to check the academic logic when he makes speech

Alright, let's just face this. With or without this degree, he's still the prime minister, probably for another 100 years to come. The point is, who would give a shit bout this. It's not like he earned it, those people are just a bunch of ass-kissers who are looking to make a deal with him and compensate him with a fake degree.
I don't think the man can barely read when he became PM over 20 years ago. And BTW to 5:24, i agree that Japs and Koreans are some of the smartest people on earth, bt don't you think they give it to him for another reason?
