i think it's all about business and making cambodia have good internet services, etc. in this day and age, even khmer people are starting to learn and think differently in term of good standard of living. perhaps, if cambodia were to stay in the dark age or stone age, then we should worry about youn and siem steal our lands, territories, etc., but in this day and age, things are different now. khmer people are getting smarter than when we have a lot of opportunity to get educated, to learn, and see the world differently than say our ancestors during the dark ages. please keep this is mind that things are different now e.g. we have a well defined border lines; we have the rule of law; we have a lot of learned, educated, vibrant, young population, and so on, so do expect and see things differently now than in the past 20 or 30 years or more. please wake up and open our eyes to see the world as the world is so big. otherwise we'd be like in the dark age or stone age again if we don't change our mentality to adjust to new, modern way of thinking and seeing things around us. thank you and god bless cambodia and all our beautiful khmer people and citizens.

i think nowadays, i care more about getting a better education and having a good standard of living and doing well in business, etc, than worrying about the vietcong bitches easedropping or whatever. yes, cambodia has changed a lot and even khmer people are getting better educated, too, compared to the past when only a handful or a few were fortunate enough to understand what is going in cambodia, let alone around the world. things do change for the better in cambodia. thank god for that. please be smarter.

story like this don't fascinate me a bit. i'm more fascinated about astronomy, space and other heavenly body out there than this "tadpoe in a fishbowl" type of mentality. remember the world is bigger than your oyster, people! wake up and smell the coffee! thank you.

"The same day, Viettel announced its US$5 million fund to provide free internet service for 1,000 schools in Cambodia."

KI, you should ask yourself why on earth the Vietnamese want to eavesdrop on the ordinary Khmers using the phone services. What kind of useful information would they get?

You are too anti-Vietnamese to the point of becoming too illogical and starting to lose credibility in general because of your strong prejudice and unnecessary sarcastic remarks you make before each posted article.

The danger to Cambodia is more to do with the unity of the Cambodians, themselves.

Vietnam and Thailand are in SE Asia to stay whether we like it or not. They are much bigger, stronger and richer than us and that is the fact we need to come to terms with.

At least Viettel provides some free Internet to Cambodian schools!

If the Cambodians inside the country think Viettel is bad then nobody will use its service and the company will die as a result so you don't have to worry about that.

Don't you think Cambodians inside the country are smart enough to judge for themselves what is good for their country?

The Viettel is a branch of the Vietcong military communication enterprise and why on Earth the Vietcong military want to enter Cambodian civilian communication market? This is a fucken scandal! If this was to happen in United States and there would be a hearing into military activities!

As far as I am concerned the fucken Vietcong military should have no business or contact in any civilian entity!

According to business 101 and there is no such thing as free service if the fucken business want to profit and provide the goods and services many more to come! What the Vietcong military has done is to kill other competitors and at the end they can monopoly the whole communication business and charge more money for the same services!

The Vietcong military business model doesn't make any sense and has clandestine military purpose!

How many mobile phone networks and Internet service providers in Cambodia right now? The question is why the Viets also want to set up communication networks in Cambodia using technologies borrowed from somewhere else, just like other providers.

The first 3 commentators are the same person, and combining all three comments together just make me vomit! There are no freebies, especially from the communist military. When the Viets want to invade Cambodia next time they won't need to carry communication equipment with them. They are already installed here!

7:12am, people like you is what cambodia do not need and want. i'm sure people in cambodia can judge for themselves what is good or bad for cambodia as they see fit from cambodia, not the way of yours western view which is way of touch with the real reality in cambodia of ordinary khmer people there. and you called yourself "smart"? not! your thinking here on this blog proved that you are just a hater, a self-absorbed, fanatic and perhaps crazy person whose brain needs examine by a medical professional. shut up, would ya! leave cambodia alone. you don't live there, so how could you be so sure with everything you said here? i think you are being brain-washed too much from your past elitist view which the KR had tried to destroyed due to unfairness and looking down on others less fortunate than yourself. not that i care anything about the stupid KR way either. but you sounded like you want to be stupid like the KR regime who only good at killing its own helpless, innocent khmer people. don't call yourself a leader because you ought to be ashame of yourself for having such founded thinking. you have some kind of disease in your brain and needs medical attention; that's what it looks like! god bless cambodia.

who cares about the vietcong bitches or whatever! it's just business. the vietcong bitches see the opportunity in cambodia and elsewhere as they mentioned north korea, venuseula, etc... of course, when no other other want them, you will go with the cambodia who befriended with them. isn't that human nature? not that khmer people like myself care anything about the vietcong bitches! my point is khmer people in cambodia can see and judge for themselves without a cuckoo person from overseas tries to tell them what to do or not to do. khmer in cambodia are tough people, who had survived and went through hell and back; thus, i'm sure we don't need people like you to tell us what to do or what not to do for it is like looking down on us, here. my advise for people like you, don't come to cambodia if you have problem with us here, and also learn proper khmer etiquette if you want us to respect you. we are a country not some sort of a nomadic tribe that you think you can boss us around the way you please without regard to the local costum and manner. so, do me a favor, please get lost! don't call us, we'll call you! god bless cambodia.
