Chinese human rights activists say police have harassed and intimidated dissidents so they would not speak out during U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's visit to Beijing.
The Chinese Human Rights Defenders group said Saturday that a number of dissidents have been put under house arrest, questioned and followed by Beijing police in an effort to silence them during Clinton's visit.
The group said that among those under house arrest is Zeng Jinyan, the wife of imprisoned activist Hu Jia.
It issued a statement after Clinton said the debate with China over human rights should not get in the way of progress in other areas.

Each politician needs to be very cautiaus before making any judgement of China. China has been in the map for the last 5000 years and has been one of the oldest human civilisation in the world. China has led the world for many human development in technology, science, phylosophy, ideology and warfare technic. Therefore, politician in Cambodia especially needs to pay more atttention to what language they should use so that they wouldn't damage their own political skill in dealing with international relationship. Each country has their up and low circle. When their country is being led by good leaders, their country would be at up high. But when their country is being led by bad leaders, tehir country would be devasted by their bad leaders. Cambodia and China are no different. China has been ruled by good leaders and by bad leaders. Since, China has been reformed by the group led by Deng Xiao Ping, China has developped enormously in all areas. Cambodia is different. Since the collapsed of the democratic of Khmer Republic, Cambodia has been led by animal like leaders who cared only their family and their own interest. Noone has cared about the country and the wellfare of their own citizen. That is the bad circle of Cambodia. Many of Cambodian politicians are from extrem left or extrem right. Hun Sen has turned himself from extrem left from 1979-1993. Since 1993, he has taken his turn to be extrem right by not caring all the poor citizen at all. To develop Cambodia, we should develop Cambodia by using central policies in whicch we should use taxation as a way to distribute the wealth of the Nation to all level of all citizen. We must look at individual income level and tax them accordingly to their level of income. We can lower Company tax, coporated tax to lower level. But each individual should declare their income from all sources and pay their taxes accordingly. We must avoid all kind of conflict of interest. You should have left this idea in the book and wait for the Cambodia reach for its crude oil. Without using my ideas cambodia is going no where between revenging from extrem left and extrem right. You have no ideas at all about what I want to say about wealth distribution. New Zealand was the first country in the world who has succeeded this policy until 1991 when the last National Government has changed to only a bit to the right, the country economy has suddently declined and has sent skyrocketing of high unemployed and big deficit. After 1999to 2008, the last Labour government with Progressive party have re-adopted central policy and with that least than 10 years, New Zealand has paid all their overseas dept of 100 billions dollars. Now National has taken back power, again has sent NZ dollars to very low value and also send NZ unemployment rate to 7.5% and NZ is back to red again. You must also watch Australia economy where Australia has always adopted central policy, but Australia is still remaining as the world richess country of the world. When you increase the number of your middle class and decrease your poverty class, your country will have strong buying power and rich because everyone is affording with good foods and good living condition. But if you allow only one small group to get rich, everyone else will be very poor and the sign of poverty will make the country look very bad with slum living, poverty, prostitution, robbery, short life living, domestic violence etc.. and etc..... You may have to read all my postings and judging carefully that I didn't mentioned about level of wealth at all. I talk about wealth distribution which is totally diffent of level of wealth. Offcourse noone wants to go to communism at all. Wealth distribution is about sharing obligation of each citizen to the State. Each person must pay their tax as their duty of citizen. But people who has earned more should pay a bit more tax than those who has pay less. All western countries included USA has done that in the past 100 or so. China is now also adopting this kind of concept for their development.
Example. we must have a tax scale of different income say
Income of US$ 6000 per year No tax
US$ 10,000 per year 10%tax
US$ 40,000 per year 15%tax
US$100,000 per year 30% tax

In any country, the state revenue has always come from taxation and duty. While every country must abolish their import duty, therefore each country must strengthen their their revenue from income tax. Cambodia cannot be a begger state for ever. There Cambodia need to set up a National commissioner for income revenue in which noone can get away from invasion of their income tax. All public servants salaries are relying these taxes. You must be completed animal for not be able to read my posting carefully. Can you show where and when I suggested that we must charge tax 99% for income of more than a million dollars? I have suggested that our maximum tax for people who earned more than 100,000 is 30%. Therefore what ever they have earned more than 100,000 their top rate will be 30%. You look at NZ to rate of more than 100,000 is 39%, Australia may be 40%. In Danemark, Finland and sweeden, their top rate may be 60%.
I am a business people myself. Therefore I knew how I have to pay tax. Each month, I have paid my Paye tax, Each two month I have paid my GST, and my provisional taxes, my final tax etc.. and etc..
