According to sources, at least 100 police majors, colonels and brigadier-generals are nominated to be appointed as colonels, brigadier-generals and major-generals.
The sources said that 20 brigadier-generals will be appointed as major-generals, 42 colonels will be appointed as brigadier-generals and 34 majors will be appointed as colonels.
The list of the promotions had already been prepared awaiting for a sub-decree and a royal decree to be officially signed.
Two former police officials, Mr. Ney Chary and Mr. Tham San, who have resigned from the police force to take up positions of deputy governors of Kandal and Koh Kong respectively, will be appointed as brigadier-general and major-general respectively.

I for one would like to be known as the first five comets generals.
About the many Generals to be assigned, it's not just a way of business for our PM, it's also his strategies to reform military structure. These measures are most likely expected to give PM the absolute power in CPP party. Earlier this month he fired 4 stars General Keo Kimyan which is a sign of conflicts in CPP, because Keo Kimyan is believed to side with Chea Sim. PM is not high educated person, but he dose use high educated people. If he can't use any people in military for example Keo Kimyan, he will find ways to replace that people one way or the other in just a matter of time.
This is an economic strategy that Hun Sen is using. By promoting these people, they'll have even more power to intimidate the people, thus more revenue for them.

This is just a sign of internal conflict. When a government without having legal implementation, many rivals groups will pop up and grow up. Those rivals will try to accrue and recruit their members.
We could find out more that which group/side that has enforced to nominate this huge numbers of useless policy stars?
If I am not wrong, it is Hun Sen who doesn't try to control army solely, he is looking for other available alternatives in the cops.
The death of Gen. Hok Lundy has haunted Hun Sen day and night. Hun Sen doesn't trust at all that his power will be stable after the death of Hok Lundy.

I'm surprised that the Royal Cambodian Navy hasn't yet tried to have 400 Fleet Admirals just for their 10 or so extremely little second-handed patrol boats that China gave as a donation.

Laos is practically already Vietnam hahaha. Their once-party communist state political leaders are basically immersed within Vietnam's sphere of influence. The only difference between Cambodia and Laos is that Cambodia has political opposition in the government and ordinary Cambodians citizens are more vigilant with their government's actions.
