As many as 170 export and production businesses have registered to participate in a trade fair that will open in Cambodia’s capital Phnom Penh on April 1.

The five-day fair will feature 330 booths displaying household appliances, foods, textile and leather products, construction materials, chemicals, production tools, and stationary.

The fair, co-organised by the HCM City Investment and Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC), the High-Quality Vietnamese Goods Businesses Club, and the Vietnam Goods Trade and Services Corp. (Vietgoods), is the eighth of its kind to be held in Cambodia since 2002.

There will also be seminars on product quality, and contract signings between Vietnamese partners and Cambodian businesses.

What does our Ministry of commerce do. We can not even live on ourself. Today we live rely on others. import import import, allows neighboring countries'products to compete with local and collect money from Cambodian. MOST OF YOUR MONEY IS TAKEN BY FOREIGN COUNTRIES.

Cambodia is light years away behind the Siem and the Viet to get the license from parent company to produce many of the consumer products that can satisfy Cambodian domestic market!

Why allowed the Siem and the Viet to produce all these consumer products while make dirt poor Cambodian people as a buyer?

What does it takes to produce a product? From toothpaste to cooking oil!

Thank to AH HUN SEN leadership and consumerism is coming to Cambodia even though dirt poor Cambodian can make only $1 a day!

why are they promoting vietcong's goods in cambodia in vietnamese writing? don't they know that khmer people can't read vietnamese? gov't should make sure to promote khmer writing of these promotion, although the products may be from vietnam, but they are promoting their products in cambodia, so khmer writing must be used. cambodia is not vietnam, you know. khmer people would rather see khmer, english or french writing because, of course, we are no fond of vietnamese or siem writing, especially in promoting products in cambodia. hello! wake up khmer people, demand the use of khmer writing in promotion! god bless cambodia.

I agree! and supported your comments above 100%! we suppose to help lifting up khmer, not stepping on khmer people..

i hope one day soon, cambodia will be able to produce food products not only for local consumption but for export to foreign countries as well like the siem and youn, they do just that. when will cambodia able to do the same.

i think for now it's ok to have foreign products in cambodia, but yes, gov't should promote them in khmer language and writing. khmer don't care about youn and siem writing in cambodia. they must be required to translate their products and instruction into the khmer language; after all, they are selling them in cambodia. of course, if they wanto export to cambodia, the products must have khmer instructions for labels and direction and safety, etc..., because khmer people don't read youn and siem writing. the ministry of commerce should make law to require all foreign instructions be translated into the local khmer language! no acception for youn and siem!
