BANGKOK, May 23 (TNA) - Noppadol Pattama, a former legal adviser to Thailand's fugitive, ousted former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, on Saturday said it was untrue that the ex-premier had asked the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to broker sending him to fight court cases in Thailand.
Mr. Noppadol said the Abhisit government is tryin to extradite Mr. Thaksin, and sent Deputy Commerce Minister Alongkorn Ponlaboot to convince the UAE to not shelter the fugitive.
But the UAE is a sovereign government, and Thailand must respect its decision.
The UAE “realises that Mr. Thaksin was topped from power in a military coup which is against democratic principles,” Mr. Noppadol said.
Ousted in a coup in September 2006, Mr. Thaksin lives in self-imposed exile, believed to be in the UAE.
The ex-PM Thaksin was convicted and sentenced to two years jail in absentia for manipulative involvement in a Ratchadapisek land deal conducted by his then wife.
The ex-premier is said to have spent most of his exile in Dubai after his visa was revoked by Britain.
Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs had revoked both his diplomatic and ordinary passports in an attempt to capture him.
Puea Thai MP Chalerm Yoobamrung, a recent visitor to Dubai, said the fugitive ex-PM has six to eight foreign passports.

How is thaksin life? is thaksin a corruption PM?
Why should UAE deal with an illegal Govt that won the right to rule through toppling the democratic elected Govt of Thaksin by military means.
For that matter, countries must not deal with the present Govt of Thailand which is still considered illegal.
same as cambodia, hunkvak was one of the illegal government, and he still controling now. let the thai deal this matter of their own. Clean your own back before criticize others. Based on what i knew Cambodian government is worsen than the Siam/Thai.

What you know or you hear is not too important. The government of the Khmer Kingdom is legal. They won by election and not by an activist of yellow shirts. Sorry, nothing has to be clean.
The illegal government is the today Thai government. They did not win the election ?
I agree with UAE not to extradite Thaksin because Thaksin represent a legal government which was overthrown by military mean!
The current Siem leaders are crazy and they did something illegal and now they ask the world to cooperate with them? This is sick!
You loser AbhiShit!
Taksin is a legitimate Prime Minster of Thailand and he will always be. The Thai Klu Klux Klan of Yellow shirts or PAD are the Extremist and Racist, and they use "Lese Majesty" to kick Prime Minister Taksin out from his country by the helps from Military dictator and Chakry family members behind (Chakry is a new founder of this current Thai monarchy). Because Prime Minister helped the poor people, while the Thai Klu Klux Klan are elite and corrupt.
They accused Prime Minster Taksin of insulting Bhumibol.
Yes I tend to agree that Abhisit is not a legitimate PM just like Hun Sen. Hun Sen lost the elections but his killing machines and his 10,000 spies are his winning army.
Abhisit and Hun Sen are power grabbers, except Abhisit was born from a rich family and he is an educated man, whereas Hun Sen born from a peasant (Vietnamese Khmer Rouge) and he is not an educated man. Hun Sen is more like THAN Shwe of Burma. They are gangs the same but Abhisit is an elite gangster whereas Hun Sen and Than Shwe are low class gangsters.
United Arab Emirates is a Muslim Country, and why would the Muslim country agree with Thailand who killed many Muslim people? Southern part is Muslim country. Give back or else.
After Bhumibol dies, his only one son, a muderer who killed and abused his subject including his own wife will become king?
He ordered his own wife to be naked in front of his servants at the birthday party of his little puppy. If this guy becomes king, hello playboy king and naked queen of Thailand!!!! What a nation???
thailand can't go around the world and force other country to do what they want. it's like dictating to other country. hey, thailand, you are not super power nations, and never will be, so stop dreaming and harrassing cambodia! we will bite back, you know!
Apparently, most of the people in here don't really know Thailand and have absolutely no clue what this former prime minister has done to the country. How about, try to study those things before commenting on the country, ignorants.
