Tourism officials in Cambodia say they will ask private travel agents in popular centre of Sem Reap to lower prices, in a bid to boost the industry's off-peak season.

Off-peak runs until September.

The country's Ministry of Tourism says the request is being made after new government figures showed a 14 per cent drop in the number of foreign visitors to Siem Reap province.

The area is known for its closeness to the famed temples of Angkor Wat.

The Cambodian tourism ministry says the prices of package tours should be cut by around 20 per cent, to encourage more foreign visitors to go to Siem Reap in the off-peak season.

Apparently, you do not understand about the aviation and airport management. Do a little research, you'll find out why the airport fee applies (not just in Cambodia, but worldwide).

I think before you write down any comment you must understading the big picture.Like you want Pr.Hun Sen to stop the airport taxt. That is not happen in Cambodia, but the whold world they do like that. If they cut the airport taxt how they can pay the salary to the staff and other expended?

And I just have one comment to the Tourism Misnitry related you asked the tourisim company to reduce the tourist pakage price, WHY DON'T YOU ASKED THE GASOLINE COMPANY TO REDUCE THE PRICE, AND BUSINESS MEN OR PUT ANY POLICY TO REDUCE THE PRODUCT OR FOOD PRICE? Now all kind of food are increasing the price rapidly. And why don't you never asked EDC reduce the price too?

DON'T JUST SEE ONE SIDE BUT SEE THE WHOLD SITUATION IN OUR SOCIETY.
