This is a Thai web site. Don't be complacent about the Thai attitude toward us Khmer. Yes, in Thai school they teach young kids about the Khmer or the Khom empire that gave Thai the culture and tradition at its peak. This Khom empire was later invaded and taken over by Sukhothai and Ayuthaya in the 15th century. The Thai recognized the existence of the old Khmer or Angkorian empire lasting from the 8th to the 15th century. But the bad thing they teach at Thai school is that we the people in the present day's Cambodia are not the Khom or the Khmer from the glorious Angkor empire.
