One SRP activist from Chomnar Leu commune, Staung district, Kampong Thom province, was murdered by two unknown assailants at 7PM on Friday 04 September 2009, while he was sharing his meal with his family at home.

51-year-old Chan Thorn, a SRP activist in Trea village, Trea commune, Staung district, Kampong Thom district, provided information about this murder. He told RFA on Saturday 05 September that two masked assailants came by motorcycle and stopped near the victim’s house, they then shot and killed the victim: “[The victim] died at home at 7PM, they shot him.”

Sok Serey: What’s the motive [of the murder]?

Chan Thorn: We couldn’t find the motive, we couldn’t find the motive yet, we are doing our research, but we did not find out yet as to why the [victim] who was just eating his dinner and masked men came in by motorcycle to shoot him at 7PM.”

Sok Serey: Did they stop the motorcycle or did they shoot from their motorcycle?

Chan Thorn: They stopped [their motorcycle], they walked over to shoot and they took off on their motorcycle.

Loy Lem, the No. 1 Chomnar Leu commune councilor, said that the victim who was killed was Touch Hot, he was the SRP party president in Ko village, Chomnar Leu commune, Staung district, Kampong Thom province. He added that this murder seems linked to the accusation leveled against Touch Hot that he knew witchcraft.

A source indicated that Touch Hot’s remain was cremated by his family already. This recent murder coincides with the Kan Benn religious ceremony which is currently being observed in the entire country.

On Saturday 05 September, the local authority could not be reached to ask for clarification in the investigation into this murder.

However, General Khieu Sopheak, spokesman of the Ministry of Interior, said that an investigation must be conducted. “We do not care what party it is, this is the individual right of our people in the entire country, but, if there is a crime committed, an investigation must be conducted to search for the perpetrators,” Khieu Sopheak said.

Kep Thy, SRP party vice-president for the Kampong Thom province, said that he already received information about this murder. “They told me to travel to the location of the incident to check the situation by myself in order to obtain actual information.”

Am Sam Ath, director of investigation for the Licadho human rights organization, said that his group in investigating into this case. “Licadho’s investigating group is following up in this case to find out the cause of this murder,” Am Sam Ath said.

A political observer source in Cambodia noted that the murders on SRP activists have quieted down for a while already, but now, this observer is concerned about this murder, [especially] when it is blamed on witchcraft.

What I don't understand -- Cambodians people are believing such bullshit like Witchcraft or black magic, or "hora", shit!

The Power of mind will kill you? First, one plants information in one's head. Then, send someone else to do the job (poison, accidental death, murder, etc). The information is passed from one to millions. A whole Cambodia is believing in bullshit black magic.

Next, Cambodian will tell me a man in Cambodia CAN'T BE BURN OR KILL BY THE BULLETS!

NO WONDERED KHMER SOCIETY DON'T PROGRESS BEYOND WITCHCRAFT!

Anonymous said...

Wow! Another killing by the gangs.
Eh poster 12;35am. Witchcraft is not only practicing in Cambodia, but everywhere around the world through the islands I went to. In the US, a few States still practice witchcraft. Cambodians may have copied from other ancient countries. In Jamaica, I was freaked to see how they did. These stuffs like witchcraft and other vodoo are evils. Don't play with them.
Like Ta Yeap said "Rorpeuss dai chungrai klourn".

ACID ATTACK ON TAT MARINA
Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen Khmer Rouge Regime had committed acid attack.
"On December 5, 1999, Tat Marina, age 16, was severely disfigured in an acid attack in Phnom Penh. The attack was allegedly committed by Khun Sophal, the wife of a senior government official, Svay Sitha, because she was angry her husband had a sexual relationship with Tat Marina. Neither Khun Sophal nor those suspected of being her accomplices in the attack were brought to justice. Intense media publicity compelled the Phnom Penh Municipal Court to issue an arrest warrant for Khun Sophal for attempted murder, but the police claimed that they could not locate her, although journalists reported that she was living at home as usual."

TORTURE AND MURDER ON PRAK SITHA WHILE IN CUSTODY BY MISNISTRY OF INTERIOR OFFICIAL
Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen Khmer Rouge Regime had committed torture and murder.
"On the night of January 16, 2003, a street youth named Prak Sitha was beaten to death at the Ministry of Interior (MOI) headquarters after he was arrested and detained by off-duty MOI officers on suspicion of theft. His body - bearing numerous injuries to the head, torso, arms, and legs - was dumped at a Phnom Penh pagoda the following morning by ministry officers, in violation of police regulations regarding deaths in custody. No criminal charges were filed in connection with this death. In December 2004, the case was cited by the UN secretary-general's special representative for human rights in Cambodia - who stated that Prak Sitha died at the ministry "following beatings by a known police officer" - as an example of a "consistent and continuing pattern of impunity" in Cambodia."

To Thes Meas

You are completely wrong and you cannot represent me.
Do you understand?

I talk bad about Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen Khmer Rouge Regime not talk bad about innocent Khmer peoples to the world.

Khmer:
Innocent Khmer peoples
Victims of Democratic Kampuchea Pol Pot Khmer Rouge Regime.
Victims of Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen Khmer Rouge Regime.
Victims of Hun Sen Death Squad.
Victims of Hun Sen's Phnom Penh Municipal Court.
Victims of Hun Sen's Phnom Penh Municipal Police.

Khmer Rouge/worse than animal:
Democratic Kampuchea Pol Pot Khmer Rouge Regime
Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen Khmer Rouge Regime
Hun Sen Death Squad (Hun Sen's personal Bodyguards Unit (Brigade 70))
Hun Sen's Phnom Penh Municipal Court
Hun Sen's Phnom Penh Municipal Police

I did not make Khmer Peoples look bad. I make a murderers (Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen Khmer Rouge Regime) and supporters of a murderers look bad.  In fact I defend innocent Khmer Peoples (journalists, political opponents, leader of the free trade union, innocent men, women an children).  And you support criminals that kill Khmer peoples.  The only reason why I communicate with you is I want you who is unfit to be Khmer to wake up from this comma of supporting criminals.  The Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen Khmer Rouge Regime is actually worse than animal.  Animal usually don't kill their own kind, but the Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen Khmer Rouge Regime kill their own peoples.  You support murderers (Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen Khmer Rouge Regime) so this make you worse than animal.

Thes Meas, stop compairing you to me, there is nothing of you that is better than me.  Keep in mind that you are not Khmer, you are Khmer Krorhorm (worse than animal) who's support Khmer Rouge killing innocent Khmer peoples.

Why are you talk about your children and others children.  This is not about children, it's about you.

Thes Meas, I would like to remind you that you are not Khmer.  You are unfit to be Khmer.  Khmer peoples don't murder Khmer peoples.  Khmer peoples don't support a murderer killing Khmer peoples.

What don't you understand?

You can call yourself Khmer Rouge, Khmer Rouge supporter or worse than animal.  But you are not Khmer.

So, don't tell anyone that you are Khmer, because you'll make Khmer peoples look bad.

Thes Meas, if I feel that you're continue to support criminals (Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen Khmer Rouge Regime), I will give you a title infront of your name.  And don't tell me that I don't give you a chance.

Also, I will put your name on my hate list.

BUTCHERS ON A SMALLER SCALE:
HUN SEN AND THE CAMBODIAN PEOPLE'S PARTY
by Bruce Sharp

On July 7, 1997, Hun Sen, the leader of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), overthrew Prime Minister Norodom Ranariddh in a brutal, bloody coup. Two days of fighting left at least 58 people dead and hundreds wounded. Ranariddh's forces were overwhelmed.

The atmosphere in the weeks prior to the coup was one of optimism. Rumors surfaced that Pol Pot, the head of the hated Khmer Rouge, had been captured, and would be turned over to the government to stand trial. The Khmer Rouge were defeated, consumed in the end by their own violence and infighting. But in a bitter twist of fate, killers have become a sought-after commodity in Cambodia. The remaining Khmer Rouge were a prize. Ranariddh, whose soldiers had been battlefield allies of the Khmer Rouge throughout most of the Eighties, seemed poised to absorb them into his ranks. Hun Sen, fearing the effect that this might have on his attempts to consolidate his power, moved to crush Ranarridh before the Khmer Rouge could join him.

In the days leading up to the coup, Hun Sen protested loudly that the Khmer Rouge were murderers, and that they should have no place in Cambodian politics. This is a admirable sentiment. But it is rather odd to hear it from Hun Sen, who is himself a former Khmer Rouge soldier. His defection from the Khmer Rouge came only when one of the many purges conducted by the Khmer Rouge came to focus on his own ranks. One can only assume that he had no particular objection to genocide, so long as it was not directed at him personally.

In the days following Ranariddh's overthrow, Hun Sen's soldiers hunted down supporters of Ranariddh's FUNCINPEC party. Several of the victims were apparently tortured before being murdered; four of the bodyguards of Nhiek Bun Chhay, Ranariddh's top military commander, were found with their eyes gouged out. (Nhiek Bun Chhay narrowly escaped.) Former Interior Minister Ho Sok was shot in the head while in the custody of Hun Sen's military. Chau Sambath, an intelligence expert for Ranariddh, was "shot while trying to escape" according to one CPP account, and "committed suicide" according to another. The United Nations, meanwhile, reported that several persons imprisoned in the wake of the coup had been tortured; they were beaten, forced to drink sewer water, and some had their fingers crushed in metal clamps. Thirty detainees were held in an unlit, unventilated cell roughly six feet wide by twenty feet long. In a haunting echo of the Khmer Rouge years, the CPP denied that FUNCINPEC supporters had been killed. They had, according to the CPP, been sent for "re-education." In the aftermath of these incidents, Amnesty International has issued an appeal to embassies in Cambodia to provide shelter to Royalist party members. Hun Sen's soldiers, meanwhile, celebrated their victory with a looting spree throughout much of Phnom Penh. Even hospitals were not spared. Soldiers stole medicine, beds, and blankets, leaving nothing behind for the care of the wounded. When the UN Human Rights office publicized the killings and torture, Hun Sen called for the replacement of the UN staff and demanded an apology from the UN.

Some scholars have promoted the idea that the core of the Cambodian People's Party was formed from the ranks of "good Khmer Rouge" -- a noble, caring group of kind-hearted revolutionaries who were oppressed by the evil "Pol Pot - Ieng Sary clique."

Anyone who believes that this is so should be reminded that Hun Sen initially acquired the role of "co-Prime Minister" only because he threatened renewed civil war when he lost the UN-sponsored elections in 1993. (For details, see Alan Knight's essay on Hun Sen and Democracy.) Those who still harbor lingering doubts should recall the Easter Sunday grenade attack on pro-democracy protesters in Phnom Penh, an assault that killed at least 18 people and wounded as many as 100 more. After the incident, Hun Sen suggested that opposition leader Sam Rainsy, who arranged the demonstration (and whose bodyguard was killed in the attack), should be arrested. When he finished blaming the victims, he suggested that the Khmer Rouge were responsible. In a sense, he is probably correct: When Hun Sen looks in the mirror, a Khmer Rouge stares back.

The 1998 elections were intended to bestow the mantle of legitimacy on Hun Sen. But the elections were a farce. (See the 1998 Human Rights Watch Report on Cambodia for a detailed description of the conditions in Cambodia leading up to the supposedly "fair" election.) The international community seemed to have exhausted its patience with Cambodia, and clearly intended to wash their hands of the entire matter. Observers rushed to declare the elections "legitimate" even before the votes were counted. After the failure of the UN to enforce the results of the previous election, and the muted reaction to the 1997 coup, one suspects the rest of the world simply decided to declare victory and go home.

After decades of war and violence, the Khmer Rouge are gone. The Khmer Rouge were brutal, stupid despots. Hun Sen is a brutal, intelligent one. In an article in the Salt Lake Tribune, noted Cambodia scholar Stephen Heder described Hun Sen in a single sentence: "He is both a competent political administrator and a ruthless political criminal."

Surely, the people of Cambodia deserve better.

Bruce,
All humans deserve to be treated as equally as human beings not only Cambodians. Hun Sen is a Vietnamese puppet, and the Vietnamese only promote the ruthless peasants like Hun Sen.
That's how they can control Cambodia behind their puppet Hun Sen.

I don't care what those scholars said about what I said. I knew Hun Sen is always a peasant, and a puppet, regardless how powerful he is in Cambodia.

This is political killing! It is the nature of AH HUN SEN government to blame the political killing on something else!

How much longer AH HUN SEN want to silent the opposition! The opposition doesn't revenge and only want democratic vote from Cambodian people!

Stop the political killing now!

From Thana:

Dear, all local and oversea Cambodians,

As we are all Cambodians, pls do not waste our time anymore to criticise each other and fight only with our own people perself.
As Cambodians, we all must be proud and optimistic due to the fact that Camboida is one of the wonderful nation in the world in terms of culture, tradition, honest, patience, hard work, bravery, ....etc.
Therefore, if you agreed with me, pls let me say that from now on, we should put our interests in front firs and clearly classify them into priorities as best idea/suggestion/recommondation options for taking considerations as referent inputs in the agenda of current and future policy spaces:
1- As Khmer/Cambodians, we should unite as one voice to fight against foreign encrouchment/agression/interests;
2- As Khmer/Cambodians, we should stop criticise individual person, we should not name and colour each other;
3- As Khmer/Cambodians, we should express opinions in a manner of morality, respect to the press code. And judgement/assessment shoud be besed on data collection, survey, research, proof......etc.
Of course, even some circumstances, prerogative way of thinking may be used. However, sometime I would suggest that it should not be used and based too much on what we think perself rather than what we present as a majority/common think or perecption;

Anonymous said...

From Thana: Continue…………

4- As Khmer/Cambodians, we should only publish or disseminate information that would deem to be not useful and valuable to the interests of public, local, oversea patriots, and foreingers. Information provided should not be a such of felse or exxagerated information that would lead to conflict of interests between supporters and oppositors. Aand especially; as the result, it also misleads to the public and perceptions of foreigners because such wrong news may turn out into foreiners's wrong judgements, then lead to exsposure of bad images about Cambodia (we made and created ourself). Consequency, we lose opportunities, chances, interests, and ......etc., and then foreign countries may look down us and take opportunities/chances from our weekness; and
5- As Khmer/Cambodians, we must commit ourself and ready to devote our resouces (capital, finance, material, intellecual/brain, encouragement, motivation....etc)., and sacrify of our lifes to our nation and people. Frankly speaking, I am very impressive as I seen some of friends have done very good comments and suggestion about how to improve domecracy, defend the country's interests, deal with poverty alliviation such as ideas of transfering money back home to help families, relatives or country, express opinions to defend our nation from foreign aggression, and advise the government,......etc. However, I am very sad, while I see only small number of people always have negative and black or dark views about Cambodia that those will never be helpful to our country and people at all.By the way, since I rarely seen, may I suggest and encourage all of u to provide or share your encoutered experience about how to improve economy, trade, negotiation skills, social issues....etc, in which those ideas,sugguestions/recommondations/inputs would help Cambodia alot in general.

In conlusion, as we are now living in this modernized society, hi-technololy, free and fair trade/competition,nondiscrimination,....etc., we should stop expessing unimportant, felse, exxagerated and useless news/information that would mislead and then indirect or direct impacts to people and society, in particularly; our current chilrend or next young generation or even our Cambodian people as a whole. Incorrect news/information leads to big misleadings or misunderstandings. Therefore, negative impacts will be as follows:
- Conflict of interests;
- Creating gap, diversion, then it becomes difficulty/burdensome to break difference;
- Less chance to achieve common interest/goal/vision, then hard to get win-win solution; and
- Increase expusure of bad images about our country, then our people and country is in the position of losing, not foreign countries.

Sorry, due to the technical problem and time constraint, u may see one of my previous posting is missing some words. However, the above text is came with an edition.

The persons who can arrest Hun Sen for Khmer rouge Tribunal were Hok Lundy and Ke Kim Yann.
1-Hun Sen cannnot remove Hok Lundy as easier as he wish so Hun Sen has killed Hok Lundy first by puttting an explosif into his helycopter.
2-Ke Kim Yann is different from Hok Lundy as this man want to live in more confort. So Hun Sen has remove him from Army chef.
To protect him from Khmer Rouge tribunal, he put his relatives into top arm force such as;
3-Neth Savoeun as Police chef
4-Kon Kim to replace Ke Kim Yann
5-Pol Saroeun as deputy
These actions were to counter potential request to arrest Hun Sen, Chea Sim and Heng samrin, Kiet Chhon and Hor Nam Hong.
