“THAKSIN IN CAMBODIA” VERSUS “SAM RAINSY IN THAILAND”?
Upon his arrival in Thailand on October 23 to attend the ongoing ASEAN summit meeting, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen confirmed that he is willing to welcome former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra to stay in Cambodia. He noted, “If [Cambodian opposition leader] Sam Rainsy could come to Thailand as he did recently to make statements against the Cambodian government, why my good friend Thaksin could not [reciprocally] come to Cambodia?”
Hun Sen cannot decently use Sam Rainsy’s latest visit to Thailand as a “balancing” pretext for his offer to fugitive Thaksin Shinawatra to come and stay in Cambodia.
Last month, Sam Rainsy was invited by the South East Asia Press Alliance (SEAPA), a Bangkok-based international free expression advocacy group, to speak on September 22 at the Foreign Correspondent Club of Thailand (FCCT) about the human rights situation in Cambodia. The intention of the event organizers was to allow international observers to collect different points of view ahead of the launching of the ASEAN Inter-governmental Commission on Human Rights in Hua Hin (Thailand) on October 23. Yesterday’s launching of the AICHR was actually followed by the ongoing ASEAN summit meeting.
Sam Rainsy's intervention at the FCCT had nothing to do with border issues or any other disputes between Cambodia and Thailand, and the Thai government was not involved in any way in the September 22 press conference attended by Sam Rainsy.
Similarly, on May 6 this year, Sam Rainsy was the main guest of a Gala dinner organized in Singapore (Conrad Hotel) by the Foreign Correspondents’ Association in Singapore. During a question-and-answer session with foreign and local journalists and observers, he elaborated on issues very similar to the ones he addressed in Bangkok on September 22. The Singapore government was not involved in any way in the event.
To properly defend Cambodia’s interest, the Sam Rainsy Party urges all Cambodians from all political parties to remain absolutely neutral in any internal conflict among neighboring peoples. Any spillover from the current internal tension/unrest in Thailand could be very detrimental to Cambodia.

there you go, sam rainsy in supported by thailand and take santuary in thailand, so, why not cambodia welcome thaksin in cambodia? as we know siem and sam rainsy are so bias toward cambodia. i told you, what goes around comes around, really! hey, again, cambodia is not in the dark ages anymore, ok; and there are more to cambodia than you and i, really!
Why SRP Cabinet is so afraid of the Thailand political spillover into Cambodia and how is it so detrimental to Cambodia?
=Thailand political spillover into Cambodia has been an ongoing issue for sometime now and for Thailand to hold Khmer Phrea Vihear temple hostage to advance their personal political agenda is not only dangerous but risking a future war! Thailand needs to stop the bullshit by respecting international court decision on Khmer Phrea Vihear temple!
I remembered when Vietnamese leaders fan the flame of the Vietnam War into Cambodia and the flame of war burn for 30 years! So if Thailand want to have a 30 years war and risking all the advancement their government had made over the years and the Thai leaders can go to war right now! It is so easy to make and how do you stop war?
Cambodia had been through it all! Once again Cambodia will be flooded with weapons to counter any Thai blind ambition!
You are stupid. Sam Raingsy is a congressman still on the job. And Thaksin is a fugitive; he concicted by the court of his country. You are stupid like Hun Sen, that why you deserve to be Vietnamese's dog.
"Knowing that evil and destructiveness are the necessary consequences of failure to grow"-Erich From. Mr Hun know very well by letting his compatriot to visit or stay in our country, would not bring any good to the nation. Today, Trusting and honoring an agreements between nation is still valid. We known Thai do not belvieve in any form of honoring or binding to an agreements but we do not have to lower ourself to Thai level. By doing this, it will make it very difficult for country to grow.

Why are you so blind!
It is the fact that Thakshin was overthrown from power by AH Abishit government! It is the tradition of any world leaders who got overthrown from power to go to live in other country for safety reason! It is the current Thai illegal government under AH ABISHIT leadership who make Takshin as a fugitive!
it would be interesting to see the westen country say about hun sen decision to allow thaksin to stay in cambodia, either agree or disagree would be a wrong move for them .if they againt hunsen decision that mean they support the coup and illigal goverment who run by millitary junta.
Mr thaksin was convicted in thai court so he will have to do jail time in thailand. If mr hunsen associates himself with mr thaksin and allows him to stay in cambodia, then mr hunsen colaborate with criminal thaksin. This is a dangerous situation for cambodians. Heres what can happen:
1. Thailand sends its troops to cambodia to capture mr thaksin
2. When that happens, cambodia will be forced to fight a war with thailand.
What Thai court? Thai court under the Thai King who take side with AH Abhishit illegal government with Thai military leaders to overthrown Takshin from power?
Hey! Takshin is too popular among the poor Thai and the Thai King see Takshin as a threat to his power for trying to play his role and so Takshin will have to be sacraficed? Not!
Thai leaders are committing suicide if they want to go into Cambodia to capture Takshin by using military!
Why Hun Sen has to pick to play this "splitting game" in Thailand? Hun Sen is expecting benefit about Preah Vihea issue?
And why Hun Sen and his advisors are so good to jump into this game in order to link/blame Sam Rainsy into another ungraceful alliance?
Hun Sen and his teams are good in politicizing and manipulating Cambodian people but the real issue of Preah Vihea will move no where....this is called the blind leadership of Hun Sen...
1:01pm If i were mr sam rainsy i would challenge mr hun sen for a one-0n-one match in the boxing ring. Mr hun sen would be ko in 60 seconds.
supposedly Hun Sen would allow Thanksin to come in and stay, or rather a visit to, Cambodia, it is quite obvious that this is not going to realise as Thanksin would be wise enough not come this close to his ennemy camp...however, it's just a political stroke by Hun Sen to the current Thai government to "retaliate" their playing the innocent towards Cambodia on most boiling issues. One day, the thais would realise that their born-with superiority complex towards their neighbors cost them so dearly.
It's strange that Thai government is not involved since the initiative of a human right body, if I'm right, has come from Thai government, in particular the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand following, amongst others, the meeting between Kasit and Hillary Clinton recently.
Since Hun Sen was a Khmer Rouge commander, now a Khmer Rouge leader and had many of his political opponents assassinated, I wonder if he have any plan to assassinate the Thai Prime Minister (Abhisit Vejjajiva)?
