Phnom Penh
Sir,
The article titled “Sam Rainsy slams VN incursions” in the November 20 edition of the Phnom Penh Post, did not reflect the main point I wanted to stress in my November 19 message to the Cambodian people.
When I said, "Prime Minister Hun Sen is currently playing a dangerous game” affecting Cambodia, I was referring not to his "understating the threat posed by Vietnamese territorial encroachments" as you wrote, but to the fact that he is playing with fire while handling Cambodia’s relations with Thailand.
My message reads, "Mr. Hun Sen is using a classical tactic to divert the Khmer people's attention [from other more serious problems] by exacerbating tensions [with Thailand]."
It concludes, "Cambodia should remain neutral in any internal dispute in any other country. Any spillover from the current tension or unrest in Thailand could be very detrimental to Cambodia, [which could be] set ablaze as past experiences have shown when we unnecessarily and unwisely took side in our neighbours' internal disputes."
Yours sincerely,
Sam Rainsy

I don't support Hun Sen's move to allow Vietnamese doing what it wants to/in Cambodia, but is SRP bowed to the Thailand in defending Cambodia national interest?
Most of us knew and understand more and more about Mr. Sam Rainsy. You know how to talk also bowed down too low to cpp after talking BIG. Just a small advice, next time before you do anything, think twice or more then talk also act as a real leader not a loser. If you don't know or not sure what you want to do, look for help and nothing wrong to ask for help to solve our Khmer issue. Stop talking like a giant and act like small child please. I don't know now how many Khmer people still believe or trust you???
11:50 PM,
Don't assume! About the cpp and vietnam enrcoachment. We all know that, and there is alot of proofs!
About thailand and Sam Rainsy. Bring proof first. Don't just assume. You will make a fool of yourself.
Time to unite and support those who support all khmer. If anyone can't do that. Then, don't talk. Talk is cheap! Do better!

I am the poster 11:50 and I have always been SRP supporter. I believe in many things he stands for even up to now. But my question, not assumption, as I have raised above; is he bowed down to the Thailand in regard to his clarification letter about Cambodia national interest?
I always supported Sam Rainsy but this time he really make disappointed because I don’t see him condemning Ah Siam for burning Khmer boy alive and burned the Khmer village at Preah Vihear Temple. But still wish Sam Rainsy all the best.
1:38,
What is a bigger deal? 50 KILO of lands lost to thailand, or 1000 KILOs plus millions of illegal youns in cambodia, and in the government dictating to khmer ?
How can SR condemn Thai government because he and Abhisit are buddy, just like Thaksin and HS. SR party and Abhisit's party also having close relation, just like CPP and Peu Thai party. So SR is very upset or envy when Thaksin and HS kissing each other in Cambodia for 5 days :)

1:38AM, Don't you agree Khmer should focus on the imminnent danger issues first? This does not mean we should forget everything on the Thia side.
I agree with 2:11AM.
1:38AM,
To me, your comment sounds a little dumb. Because sam Rainsy did not publicly condemn Thailand, which I think he did, do you think he bowed down to Thailand? The fact that Yuons gradually steal our land is so big a deal not to be discussed at all time. These two neighboring enemies pose the same danger to us, but the Yuons are more dangerous than the Thais because millions of the Yuons soldiers are already in Cambodia.
I think cambodia people shall have a big protest to government for not helping and burn down any official property so that they can re-learn from being poor again.
Those official now so rich and power they even not want to know anything about farmer and harding working cambodian.
Bill Gate is world's richest, he still ate pack lunch and he learn about being poor. He help us as people on earth.
To be even Cambodia shall be elect official to work on government body not buying power into government office.
Buying office does happen in current Hun Sen government today.
It is real I have seen it from my relative.
On Thailand and Vietnamese sides, all the problems are the results of Hun Sen's incompetent and careless leadership. He allowed Vietnam to encroach and never protested. On Thai side, he did not deploy enough troops to protect Preah Vihear because only 20 Thai troops invaded Preah Vihear in the first place.
Hun Sen only protect himself because all the elite troops are based at his Tuol Krosaing home, not at Preah Vihear.
Instead of talking about politic, let talk about the real issue that effect the people (Kmere Krom and Kmere surin) who is living along the border.
As you are all know that both sides of the land were belong to Cambodia (Vietnam and Thailand)in the past. But, one day the supper power (French)decided to draw the boundary line without knowing or care to discuss who own that land. There is a possibility that both side of the border are owned by kmere. These people have been living in their land for years and never have any problem untill some one decided to draw the border line.
Whenever the politician get involve the real people getting heard. It seems like only Kmere are getting heard from both sides of the border.
is the Phnom Penh Post ground for defamation suit?

Not only Hun Sen like Yuan, most of Khmer people in Cambodia like Yuan because they still think because of Yuan that their lives still live today. Ah Siam don't let Khmer live but to kill Khmer so do not try to tell Khmer that Ah Yuan steal Khmer land, there is no way that Khmer believe in you. So my advice to Sam Rainsy is to fight against Ah Siam to make Khmer people trust him then will try to explain Khmer people about Ah Yuan later. That way, Sam Rainsy could earn more popularity from Khmer people.
I still don't understand why all Khmer Leaders/parties can not seat together to work for the Nation benefits. For a long year of History, many Khmer Leaders were lost of trust from its people, becuase they like powers, except King Chey Varman-VII.
New Khmer Generation
9:52 AM,
Cause khmer politicians like to put themself first and not the nation and its future.
Self pride, arrogant, and self acknowledgement benefits nothing and no one.
When the country have a future, everyone benefits from it.
There is a saying:
"Pride and glory before the falls"
SRP doesn't want to see Thaksin or his ally runs the government in Thailand. We want Abhisit as Thai PM for a long haul because his democrats party is our ally. In addition, Abhisit can help us to confront with Hun Sen and we use current Thailand's government to insult Hun Sen.
We do pray to Thai military to wage war with Cambodia, then we will point the blame to Hun Sen for bring the country into war with neighbour and destroyed Cambodia. If it's the case, we have a good chance to win the next election.
SRP (Candle Light)
Let me be your PM before I die...
