PRIME Minister Hun Sen is currently playing a “dangerous game” with the Cambodian nation by understating the threat posed by Vietnamese territorial encroachments, opposition leader Sam Rainsy said.
In a self-styled “message to the Cambodian people” released on Thursday, the Sam Rainsy Party president said the government is playing up the threat posed by Thailand but ignoring problems on its eastern border.
Sam Rainsy said the potential loss of 5 square kilometres of land in disputes with Thailand was dwarfed by the loss of “thousands” of square kilometres to Vietnamese incursions.
“This is an ongoing painful process that Mr Hun Sen does not want us to look at,” he said.
The message came just days after the National Assembly stripped Sam Rainsy of his parliamentary immunity over an October 25 incident in which he helped uproot six wooden posts marking the border with Vietnam in Svay Rieng province.
Phay Siphan, spokesman of the Council of Ministers, dismissed the allegations, saying Sam Rainsy was speaking from emotion rather than fact.
“To the east, we do not have any problems,” he said.

3. Cambodian people reserve her rights in the future when Hun Sen is no longer in power to forfeit any agreement that deem to violate Cambodia's sovereign.
4. Cambodia will reserve rights to protest and file petition to the world court to investigate any violation by VN.
Hun Sen may stay in power for the next year, but Cambodia will be here for much longer than his age.

Here is another alternative: Have Sam Raingsy approach the Int'l community to resurrect the map of Cambodia as defined prior to 1970 including the issue with Preah Vihear. Next would be the plantation or demarcation of the border once for all and during next election have China supervise the election as China has enough manpower to post or to guard Cambodia border with Vietnam and at the same time China can control the voting process as China knew all the Viet tricks! We should protect what we have now and build our infrastructure, build our economics and build our military, so that one day, may be we are strong enough to face of our lost territory again.
Mr. Sam Rainsy should campaign on our inferstructures, economic, and the health of our nation, if he want to win votes in Cambodia.
