The Cambodian and Vietnamese news agencies have agreed to implement a technical assistance project as soon as it is approved by the Vietnam-Cambodia Inter-Governmental Committee at its meeting in Preah Sihanouk early next month.

The agreement was reached at a working session between General Director Kit Kim Huon of the Cambodian News Agency (AKP) and Deputy General Director Nguyen Duc Loi of the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) who is on a week-long visit to Cambodia beginning on Nov. 15.

After briefing each other on their current capacity and new developments in recent years, they reviewed the implementation of technical assistance and professional cooperation agreements that were signed between the two news agencies’ leaders.

Deputy General Director Loi pledged that the VNA, in its capacity, will continue to help AKP train human resources and improve its professional capacity so as to meet the increasing demand for information.

AKP leader Kit Kim Huon expressed her sincere thanks to the VNA for its valuable assistance to AKP over more than 30 years. “This assistance is a symbol of the friendship between the two news agencies in particular and between Cambodia and Vietnam in general,” she added.

While in Cambodia, Deputy General Director Loi and his entourage had meetings with Cambodian Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Men Sam Orn and Information Minister Khieu Kanharith who highlighted the VNA’s assistance to and cooperation with SPK in the past and AKP at present.

Pol Pot was the true patriotism when come to didication and commitment of the country, but not the people he slaughtered. However, slaughtered the Vietnamese people, we never regret what we did, at the time and present, we thought that was the right thing to do.

I admire our leader Pol Pot and our collegues for being patriotic for our homeland. I believe when come to patriotism, our leader Pol Pot was a thousand times patriotic than Hun Sen and his followers. One thing we can say about the Vietnamese is that if we had other opportunity, we'll kill them all. Also, we think that the Vietnamese will kill Hun Sen and his top followers when they finished with them.

Pol Pot was an epitome of patriotism with his true dedication and commitment in killing the Vietnamese people, also called “Yuons,” for the betterment of Cambodia, yet he became a true hero among his colleagues for the massive slaughter of Yuons during his reign era. However, he never regretted the fact that he slaughtered the Vietnamese people; also, at the time, we thought that was the right thing he could do for his nation.

We admire our late leader Pol Pot and our collegues for being patriotic for our homeland. When come to patriotism, our late leader Pol Pot was such a dedicated patriotic leader than Hun Sen and his followers, who are robbing our motherland’s natural resources to please Yuon. One thing we can honestly and truly say about the Vietnamese is that if we were given another opportunity, Yuons will not be settled on Cambodia soil. That said, the Vietnamese will eliminated the element of threat--Hun Sen and his top followers, that is--when they become dispensable.
