The opposition Puea Thai Party on Friday called for Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya and Kamrob Palawatwichai, former first secretary to the Thai embassy in Phnom Penh, and accept responsibility for having caused Sivarak Chutipong's suffering in Cambodia.
The call was made in a letter submitted by party spokesman Prompong Nopparit. The letter was accepted by Seri Mutthatharn, deputy director of the General Affairs Division.
Sivarak was sentenced to seven years in jail and a fine of about 82,500 baht by a Cambodian court which found him guilty of supplying information on former Thai prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra's flight schedule to the Thai government through Mr Kamrob.
Mr Prompong also accused the government to having impeded the Puea Thai Party's attempt to get a royal pardon for Sivarak. He said Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and his aides had continued to make remarks that might be construed as infringing on Cambodia's sovereignty.
Earlier today, he went to the Education Ministry to submit a leave request of Simarak na Nakhon Phanom, Sivarak's mother, to Education Minister Jurin Laksanavisit. Mrs Simarak said it was necessary for her to remain in Phnom Penh to prepare documents to petition for the royal pardon.

Thaksin was appointed to be economic adviser to the royal government of Cambodia, and thus Cambodia protected him as Cambodian citizen.

Thaksin was overthrown maybe yes, but it is Thai business and it's their internal affairs and none of Khmers' concern. The same hold true for Hun Sen when he staged a bloody coup in 1997 to wrestle power from the popular elected Rannaridth and I don't recall Thai said anything about Hun Sen's coup. I don't know why and what benefits us by us, Khmers interfere with the way the Thai run their country?

Look I don't know what kind of observation you Khmers see at those angles of Hanoi's expansionism strategies copied from US and from China for the past 500 years while you allow your national unity affair being manipulated by Hanoi. But what I knew from closely watching and from all old documents wrote by French I discovered in the old French library, the problems in Cambodia more than 100% created by Vietnamese, some of you Khmers are still being manipulated by Hanoi's games, inside and outside Cambodia are the same.
Vietnam's expansionism is not just this current centuries by Ho Chi Minh, it traced back to the past many hundred years ago after Vietnamese freed themselves from Chinese. Ho Chi Minh just followed his ancestors to carry on.
Vietnamese copied exactly from the Chinese, studied their neighbors's internal affair, studied their languages, then became them (Khmers, Thai or Laos). They don't have to fight Cambodia or Laos with force or army just through their population like they did in Kampuchea Krom and Laos.
Vietnamese always said "Khmers are crazy ultranationalists but we Vietnamese are wise ultranationalists, so the crazy ultranationalists will serve our interest".
The bottom line is cursing each others or cursing the leaders does not help Khmers, only continues to destroy Khmers that's all. No leaders of the nations in the world would want to destroy their countries. No leaders in the world can lead the battle against the enemies while the enemies are among them, only a fool would think so.

Back then in 1997, Rannarith want to use Khmer Rouge and his troop to remove CPP from power, but Hun Sen out smart him and hit Rannarith first. So 1997 was an internal arm struggle, it wasn't a coup like Lon Nol did to Sihanouk, or Thai militray junta did to Thaksin.
About Thai never did anything to Khmer! Yes they did, they shelter and support the Khmer Rouge to fight with Cambodian government for years. They murdered 30,000 Khmer refugee at Dangrek mountain in 1979. They shelled into Khmer refugee camps along the border, killing many innocent Cambodian.
And now they want to demand Preah Vihear back. Kasit and Abhisit is the cause of the latest conflict between the two countries.

Kasit and Abhisit is the root cause of all problems. They are the Thai politicians and they are also trouble makers both for Thailand and for Cambodia. No one gains through their poor leadership.

Ranaridth party won the election and was Cambodia Prime minister at that time. If Ranaridth did not want to work with Hun Sen, Ranaridth could just fired Hun Sen and as a prime minister elected by the people Ranaridth did not need to court the KR to fight Hun Sen. If Hun Sen respected the will of the people he would not threaten Ranaridth with civil war if the latter did not share power with him(Hun Sen). I don't know about you, but for me if people wrestle the power from the elected people using force, then the coup d'etat is taking place.

Rannarith won the election was a scam. He use the popularity of king sihanouk to gain the vote for himself, and the people were misled to do just that. If Rannarith was so popular and a good leader, where is he now? How many vote did he got on the last election? 1 or 2 vote? This is the real man he is. Useless.
And you think back then Rannarith can fire Hun Sen? CPP control all government structure and military. Yes Rannarith has his own troop under Nhek Bun Chai too, but they are small in number compare to the CPP, so they needed help from the Khmer Rouge troop.
