PHNOM PENH, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- The Cambodian government has ordered all televisions and radios to not broadcast or air any comments that insult religious beliefs of other religion, according to an advisory, obtained Friday from Information Ministry.
In an advisory sent out this week to all televisions and radio stations across the country, the Ministry of Information said recently that there was one radio station airing comment saying only Christians who always distribute relief stuff to prisoners, the victims by typhoon and flood or earthquakes.
The advisory which was signed by Khieu Kanharith, Minister of Information said Buddhists are in great help of others when they are in need.
The advisory, however, said it was fine any televisions and radio to broadcast and air anything relating to all kinds of religions, but not to insult others.
It noted with appreciation that many programs that touch on religious affairs that help the society through the respect of morality, culture and tradition.
As many as 90 percent of 14 million Cambodian populations are Buddhists whereas the rest are Christians, Muslims as well as other ethnic believers.
According to Cambodian constitution, Buddhism is the state religion.

I was asking a legitimate question. There are always more than one group of Christian Organizations to aid the victims of natural and unnatural disasters. I just never read of Buddhist Organizations being involved. Not as yet. If they do, good.
May be they do more so in their own countries setting. For the Christians, there's no boundry.
Regardless what religions,
we should do good and help other without bragging.
When bragging is involved, the intention was to show off, that is not truely helping.
The reason christians can help because they have an organizations and they got money. They use christian as a religion to convert people to become christianity by insulting other religious beliefs or brain wash others by faulty preaching. Pourk arak jole kbahl.
"Pourk arak jole kbahl"?? now that's funny.. in helping others, we khmer christians are doing exactly what our Lord is asking us to do ("a new commandment i give to you - love one another as i have loved you"). So doing good is what you are cursing us for?? if some people come to your house with guns and rob you off what you have,then i can understand you call them "pourk arak jole khbal".. tell you what my friend, you might be really surprised what will happen to YOU if tonight you kneel down and ask Jesus to come and reveal himself to you in his grace and love.. Jesus is alive today and that's why we khmer christians do stupid things like turning the other cheek, love our enemies, forgive those who do us wrong..
The Christians in Europe or in the US get the support from states or from others constitutions and private firms.
All Christian believe in European countries have to pay the religious tax. With these financing background, they are bale to provide help or have to do some social activities or missioning or buying other struggle people soul.
Only Buddhists are Cambodians.
Buddhist is not just a religion of a believe. It is the fundamental grassroots of our Language, our Culture and the way of life of the Khmer People. Buddhist religion is very important for us and the identity of a Khmer born.
For thousand of years those who have belief in Buddhit have never found peace but distruction and more distruction, can't you see it. Now Aust, NZ USA and many other nations have chosen Christainity and they are very successfull in its doing, So, why not change for the better!. Nothing is more proven than the bible that almighty god has given up his only begotten son in order to save all humanity from hell but a road to heaven. Where as buddha was not a son of god but a son of mankind who was enlighted because he left his comfort zone as a king son at the time, one word he was just a noble man, a man who had a good heart, that all!. So, god almighty felt what we also felt when we lost our sons or daugters, so he knows exactly, how human felt when it comes to stress and depression. Therefore, please pray to him in name of the lord jesus christ and wait for the result for yourself, i garantee you will get the answer as you wish. On one condition, your request must be reasonable one, e.g. May god help me through this hard time and pl help me to overcome with all sort of obstical, amen, Wisdom
Say what? Mr. khieu kanharith has no right to criticize what people say about religion. Televisions and radios are the means for people to voice their opinions. So khieu kanharith has to stay out of their way.
Khieu kanharith= kraham (red) kanaharith. He better shut up and go to hell now.

Buddhism is good. It is not Buddhist, but the attitude of the people who don't understand buddhism. The people gave money to the temple; the monk spends it all on himself or his family.

Cambodia can tell the world that 95% of Cambodians are Buddhists. !!! But where are compassion, love, mercy, patience, perseverance, enduring suffering that Buddha were teaching.
Instead Cambodia cursed Buddha by not practicing Buddha's teaching as he intended to. Cambodia cursed Buddha and curse God, Because Buddha never ever asked his followers to worship him as god. He is only an enlighten one. He is only like Moses. He teaches the Dharma, natural laws (God laws)he discovered in order for us to go through the truth of life which is suffering and impermanence.
But Cambodia elevated Buddha as God. But he problem lies on the fact that we do not even practice his teachings.
Cambodia must be convicted and repents and accepts Jesus as Savior and Lord. For God so loves he gives his only Son for who believes him might have eternal life.Jesus died for us, Cambodians also. Buddha came and prepared us to accept Jesus as Savior and Lord. If Buddha can speak to us , he will ask us all to accept Jesus as Savior and Lord.
I was grown up in a Buddhism village in native country in Moth Chrouk province.I accepted Christianity come to my life because I have encountered that Christianity is more reach out to the world.Every times I have problem or worry in my daily life basis big or small I pray to God in the name of his son Jesus Christ and I put all my weight to him I feel blessed and my heart fell delighted.
I just want to all Khmer brothers and sisters that have trouble in your life,just truly believe in God and his son Jesus to lead your life.

Do you mean because of Buddhism Cambodia lost, and lost territories like what some so called historians wrote, and certain Cambodians repeated it in their speeches and writings? Can you explain why a Buddhist Thailand has found peace, and expansion, and expansion from its birth in the 13th century to this day?
Northern Ireland is still fighting now! Are they Buddhism? Byzantine empire is now present day Turkey...i.e. Christian became Islam. in Utah, USA most Christian men have several wifes and they are as young as 10 or 12 years old. There are alots of bad thing about Christian. The crusaders invaded and murdered the people in Palestine (Middle East). Atleast Buddhism has not invaded or murdered anyone under their religion.
Please stop BREACHING in Cambodia, as people there lack of knowledges. Come talk to us Khmer in Utica New York, and I tell you more. Oh I have Muslim friends to tell you more.
Stop looking down on other religions. If you want to do good deeds, pls do so and shut your damn mouths about others.
