If, as some claimed, 07 January 1979 was the “liberation” day of the Khmer people from Pol Pot’s regime by communist Vietnam, then that day would have been engineered and thought out in 1930 when Ho Chi Minh was creating the Indochinese Communist Party! The historical truth must be reminded: 07 January 1979 was, first and foremost, the triumph of Vietnamese neo-colonialism in Cambodia.

If you want to debate about The viet Namese have been robbing, killing and colonization of Cambodia. We should have debate these on the radio and have the judes on both sides, to make sure it is fair and unbias.
What are we want to prove, while youn are robbing and killing our Khmers and we can't even do anything about it.
There is no doubt that January 7th, 1979, was an invasion by the viets. Here's why it was an invastion and not a liberation. After the Khmer Rouge got defeated during the invasion, rumors have it that the viets broke into all unoccupied houses in phnom penh and stole everything. They even looted old stores,which had been abandoned by its owners when the Khmer Rouge soldies evacuated phnom penh city. The viets then shipped the stolen commodities to vietnam.
Thus, not only 7 January was an act of invasion but also it was an act of stealing by the viets in addition to killing more khmers. There is a timeless adage that says, "viets are creatures of habits; at sea they are pirates, whereas in the city they are thieves." Finallay viets can not be trusted as a friend.

I hope after the debate, there will be also alot of protesting!
If protesting can take place more and more. This mean, khmer is uniting for a good good cause.
Or else, if not, the debate is a debate. But it also good to see khmer organizing regardless.
yes, youn help nothing if youn want thing from khmer, now USA provided youn 100 million dollar per year did USA ask youn to give something back to USA? if youn really help khmer will help like USA help them by not demand anything back from khmer.so we owe nothing to youn. exept youn who owe khmer a lot. such as khmer help them fight with USA in 1960....and a bigh chunk of khmer land youn took it a way from us.
i think by some outdated thinkers that cambodia is being colonized by viet/youn, etc, we are still being ignorant and think too much inside of the box like the so-called "frog in the well" mentality. i think what some people are saying here maybe true during the dark ages era when viet/siem invaded and stole lands, etc from cambodia, however, to say or infer the same thing in this day and age is so outdated and behind time, and so forth, to say the least. it is really ok to learn from each other all over the world as knowledge is shared, not owned, really! wake up and reform some of the outdated mentality please if we are to compete and be known in the world, really! shake off that outdated mentality if it serve us no good, really!
Yuons never help Khmers.
Yuons imposed Khmers to fight against Americans from 1965-1975.
Yuons started to swallow Cambodia in 1979.
Cambodia is swollowed in 2010.
Khmer rouges helped Yuons to do that.
CPP do that for Yuons.
All of CPP members are traitors.
well, if there are proof and founded fear, then that is why the current gov't is permanently demarcating the our borderlines, so don't interfere with their job, really. i think people are trying to solve problem in cambodia so viet/siem can't steal from us again. think about it, really! don't oppose them all the time, really, especially if they are trying to solve or fix problems once and for all, really! instead be proactive and do your part for our society needs help, especially after what happened under the stupid KR regime, really! wake up already! if you have some great idea or useful suggestion, etc, then, perhaps the best place offer ideas is by debating, discussing or talking about them in the national assembly so our leaders can be aware and be educated as well from one another, but if you just run your foul-mouth everytime you open one, then i don't think people is going to listen to you, especially calling people name, swearing,etc... learn some way to interact with other people, please. yes, there are a better way you can influence people, however, i'm sure name calling or swearing, foul-mouth, etc, is not one of them, really. and this is true anywhere as well, not just in cambodia, really. learn to deal and interact properly and appropriately with people and you will be heard, not the other way around. well, unless they are your enemy. anyway, try it, not only you will feel better yourself, you will be surprised at how people respond to you as well, really, ok!

Vietnameses are stealing Khmers lands.
Vietnameses are swallowing Cambodia.
In the future, Vietnameses will administrate some provinces of Cambodia.
Finally Vietnameses will take charge Cambodia government.
CPP is jailing all of Khmers who complained and denounced that.
We must stop CPP to do that now.
so, you think stopping cpp now will solve all cambodia's social problems? and you think viet/youn is everything about cambodia? do you think by forcibly removing cpp will change cambodia forever? what you do think about working with them for the betterment of cambodia and majority khmer population, etc? you think it's wise for cambodia to have civil war again in this day and age? you have to be serious. what do you think most khmer people both in and outside of cambodia think about your idea? you think they vote for that or is it just your idea, here?

Regarding the meaning of 7-Jan-1979 everyone know or think that this is the invade rather than help (THIS IS THE HELP FOR INVADE BUT NOT INVADE FOR HELP)even some people said that this is the liberation.
It is nonsense if any one just say Vietnamese liberate Cambodia without mention on it's causality. If you said VN liberate Cambodia then you have to widen your brain by asking that ''liberation'' for what? They must think about the cause and causality to justify the history,if not you are lying.
From this forum I want to hear the explanation from any CPP member about the meaning of 7-Jan-1979 with elaborate the history of 7-Jan-1979 (I want to reminde you that if we call any event as history then you must to raise the cause and causality of this event). I do really one to see the reply from H.E Phay Siphan or H.E Khieu Khanharith or Mr. Soi Sopheap from Deum Ampil News. For sure that those people sound strong when they appear on the local media but I am also sure that maybe their speech is different from their thinking. It will be appreciate if they can contribute to this controversial understanding.
But for any people starting to know about the meaning of this day please read the history written by foreign authors whose work professionally done. And it's stupid if you believe to what Vietnamse or CPP said or refere to the history written by Hanoi and CPP.
The meaning of 7-Jan-1979 is still be a confussion for some people but the meaning of Vietnamese installed regime (after 1979 or before as the National Salvation Front)is very clear that it is a Vietnamese puppet.

COULD CAMBODIA CAN EMERGE FROM HANOI'S GRID?: My above article is speaking as a Khmer who do love so much this country and eager to see she is growing independently with equity, sovereignty democracy and I think that we could do if Cambodia leader is willing to do that. We can leasten Vietnamse influence by tightening Chinese relationship.
Vietnamese ambition and intention is not ever changed except for the way they are practicing to curb Cambodia and Laos into their ring. This indochina strategy of Hanoi will be more and more interested for US, USSR, EU policy maker. These country is warm to see Vietnamese be strong to counter the more and more emerging China in economy and military.
Please remember that strategic geographic position of Cambodia is very and very important for China view compare to US, EU, or Russia (These countries always weighten the position of Vietnam far interested than Cambodia).
This time is the time that Cambodian to wake up and never make a mistake again as we did in 1960s to avoid grouping with SEATO (ASEAN). Please have a right decision to made a strategic partner with any country that could defend our beloved Cambodia sovereignty. As my opinion China will be the best one. If you make with Vietnamese than it will be the same as you hand over this country to Hanoi for sure like as you go into the stomach of open mouth crocodile.
In the beginning of New Year I wish
all the Cambodia leader a wisdom and healthy, the wisdom that could bring Cambodia to prosperity with independence, democracy, and sovereignty
Good luck to the meeting. I wholeheartedly support this initiative and hope for great outcome from the meeting in order to resist Vietnamization of Cambodia at present day.

There is no time to waste any more, when you meet today may I suggest all of you to compromise and truly love each other without looking for who is in-charge, who have more education, who have a respectable job who have more diamond or big house than the other old, young, man or woman, healthy of disability Khmer. Whole heartily, I love to join you, but it is too far from Cambodia. The agenda today must be:
1- Form a government in exile!!!!! Consist of all Khmer on this Earth
2- Draft a political plan (we will fail if we don’t have good plan)
3- Amend a little bit on the existing UNTAC constitution
4- Co-ordinate well among Khmer around the world (coordinated!!!)
5- Decentralized the job and duty precisely to each leader and each subordinate in each country around the globe
6- Political offensive by taking the Vietnamisation of Cambodia to the world courts such as The Hague, Geneva, Paris Peace Agreement and UN etc…
7- Military liberation unless the USA, the Chinese and the Thai are agreed upon it like they already did in the 1980’s, then we can do it easily. Otherwise we will not be able to do it. Therefore we have to use politic and diplomatic to push the Vietnamese occupier out.

to 11:40 PM, we would like to work with cpp but cpp do not want to work with us because they can't handle of criticisms and can't work as normal people because each of cpp party office full of their familly members no out sider of their familly could work. for example hum kwack familly his son work as chief of military and chieft of the police officer and each of the office and each branch of police officer is their familly member for example hun kwack familly had to marriage to sok ann son. you could imagination this yourself the only way we can change this system is to kill hun sen and every thing else will be follow.
