Orn Bun Hak claimed on 18 January that: “Last year, women workers from Indonesia took the top spot, but now it is the Cambodian women workers’ turn.” According to Orn Bun Hak’s claim, the reason Cambodian women workers won the popularity contest is because they are gentle, honest and work hard. A recent report claimed that wages earned by Cambodian women workers used to be lower than those of their Indonesian counterpart, but now, the Cambodians earn wages that are equal to or higher than the Indonesians. According to Orn Bun Hak’s association, each month Malaysia could accept between 1,500 to 3,000 Cambodian maids, but he believes that the true number is closer to 1,500 to 2,000 maids only.

That is a problem of human traffcking. Cambodian Human trafficking was made by Cambodian government and not by gangster at all. There USA government is fully right that Cambodian government has trafficked their own citizen for human exploitation in foreign country and to take their lands for vietnamese illegal immigrants.

You and me are lucky person have the possibility to spent time to use the PC and complain, because we don't work or fight for life. But for those people, they have different challenge and need rice. It is a legal work and nothing to do with human trafficking as you commented.

The Cambodian workers in Malaysia must be trained and taught about their freedom, rights and obligations before being dispatched. The officials at the Embassy of Cambodia to Malaysia must care about those housemaids because that is your work to serve people.
It's not a good things to hear that number of Khmer people working abroad as housemaid is rising but rather it is shameful.

First you must understand the word maid. Maid is a household slavery and is one of the most unskilled job. When someone trying to organise to send someone from their birth country for a slaveryjob like that is called Human trafficking ( from UN description). Each country must open opportunities for their people to education, to work training, to business opportunities at their home country so that they can live with their families and develop their lives with full potential.
India and China are the two greatest countries with their number of population. Have you ever seen any Idian or chinese working as housemaids in foreign countries? None.
These slavery job wouldn't only harming people with their emotional lives and their physically lives, they also destroy National pride and National independent as well. Only corrupted countries like Cambodia, indonesia and Phillipine are allowed their citizen to live in such a low live like that.
If Cambodia government didn't support land grabbings, corruptions, Cambodia would have a good job for everyone. I have fully distanced myself from doing business in Cambodia because of that reason ( corruption). I have three companies in Cambodia from 1994-1997. After the coup d'etat of 1997, I left Cambodia for good.
It is systematically self-destructions for foreign invasion.
