It’s useless because the decision has been made beforehand.
THE Svay Rieng provincial court has issued an arrest warrant for Sam Rainsy in connection with an October incident in which he led local residents in a protest against alleged Vietnamese encroachment on Cambodian territory.

Lawyer Choung Chou Ngy said he received the warrant Thursday afternoon, and that it had been issued after his client failed to appear in court on Monday for questioning – a move Sam Rainsy scorned, saying that there was no point in explaining himself to politically biased judges.

“The arrest warrant was issued one day after he did not appear in court. This is a procedure to force Sam Rainsy to appear,” Council of Ministers spokesman Phay Siphan said, adding the Sam Rainsy Party president can now be arrested at any point of entry into Cambodia.

Investigating judge Long Kesphyrom, who issued the warrant, could not be reached for comment on Thursday.

Sam Rainsy was charged with racial incitement and destruction of property in early December after removing border markers from the Vietnamese frontier in Svay Rieng’s Chantrea district on October 25. His parliamentary immunity was revoked in November, paving the way for the charges.

Speaking by phone from Paris, Sam Rainsy said he was unconcerned about his failure to appear at the provincial court hearing, arguing that a verdict against him was a foregone conclusion.

“Whether I go [to the court] or don’t go, it is the same. … It’s useless because the decision has been made beforehand,” he said.

Sam Rainsy accused the Cambodian People’s Party of pressuring the provincial court, saying that he would continue his work as a parliamentarian despite the “politically motivated” charges against him.

“I will find a political way for justice…. I can resolve my own problems, but justice [must be had] for the farmers who lost their rice fields,” he said.

Sam Rainsy is in Europe, having met with the European Parliament in Belgium and the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Switzerland last month.

There is only one thing you can change Cambodia for better, you must go extreme. You must dare face difficult and unjust challenges. If you dare face jail, persecution and assinationa, you can change Cambodia. If you dare not face these challenges. Stop dreaming. Hun Sen is a bad guy and so powerful. You must sacrifice more to challeng him.

Sam Rainsy political career is over. Either he will beg Hun Sen and the king for pardon again or he must willing to do to jail. He should know all of these consequences ahead of time before he act. If he is too afraid to appear in court, or if he dismiss the law and court system in Cambodia, then he should not be a law maker and work within that governing system.

All Khmers,

Other groups should organise an ARMED UPRISING to counter Hanoi's puppet regime, and press for the whole world to step in to solve Cambodia's problem and her Vietnamisation.

5:27 AM,
Cambodians cannot go extreme like the Japanese, Muslims and Vietnamese. They don't believe in Kamikaze, but they are good in cutting each other throats for power and money.

King Norodom Sihanouk lost hope with the West to help his country, so he turned to China and N Korea for helps. The King not only lost hope with the west he was desparated to save his country from the Vietnamese and Thailand who abused his ocuntry, so he may had tried to adopt "the Juche Ideology" before march into the extreme block.

Not that I believe in a minute it will work, because Thailand and Vietnam secretely worked together to destroy the Juche Ideology in Cambodia.

If Cambodia's ideology works, Cambodia will become a country like North Korea, and it will pause threat to Thailand and Vietnam. Not even that it will kill million more of their own people just like we see in N. Korea.

If you all don't believe me just look at so million mines surrounding Cambodia and how million people were forced to work and starved to death; and then read the nature of Juche Ideology.

King Sihanouk loves so much his country and his people, he tried to go extreme against his own nature, and his people are not able to bend along with it.
Since "The supreme HDQT" from Hanoi, he lost the game even with China helped, because the Vietnamese Communists were already among the red Communist Cambodian.

Cambodians cannot go extreme under King Sihanouk, but Hun Sen can make Cambodians to be extremists. The King has mercy but Hun Sen has none.

Just opinions only.

There are no million plus Khmer for anything. Good luck trying to get Khmer people to act or have any passion about anything. Khmer are apathy group of people.

The only person who can unite all the Khmer and bring that kind of action is an absolute monarch! Today we do not have an absolute monarch, we have an absolute dictator who is neither learned of the ways of religion nor peace. So he is thus a savage.

Hi friend 6:49 AM,

I agree with you on that. Cambodia should have an absolute monarch like Thailand not absolute dictator. King Sihanouk and King Sihamoni are too soft. Only an absolute monarch and "Lese Majesty" will save Cambodia.

6;49am.
I agree for million times that Khmers are apathy groups of people.
Khmers in Cambodia and Khmers outside Cambodia are 99% group of apathy people, but 1% is OK.

With an absolute monarchy and "Lese Majesty" like "Law and Order" will bring Cambodia to become a strong nation. These apathy groups are running amok in Cambodia and all over the places around the world.

I don't think the apathy groups in KI who cursing the King know what apathy Khmer group is.

Just tell them the word they reall know.
Apathy Khmer group is the same as gangsters or barbaric people. With the gangsters in Cambodia and the gangsters outside Cambodia, an absolute monarchy can put Camboidia in order.

King Sihanouk was not an absolute monarch, if he was like in Thailand, some of these gangsters wouldn't be curisng online and Hun Sen and his gangsters wouldn't be dictators.

The law should give power to the King to rule and to reign in Cambodia, because Khmer people are barbaric people or apathy people the same thing.
