After learning that he was sentenced to 2 years jail term by the Svay Rieng court, Sam Rainsy declared that he does not value this sentencing, and he said that he agrees to turn himself to the court if the authority agrees to release the villagers who are currently being jailed because they participated in the uprooting of border stakes with him.

From 27th January 2010 onward, Xam Rainxy is a convicted criminal.

It's so obvious for criminal, they have never admitted their crime but at the same time, they always try to say or show something to cover up their crime and get public sympathy but no matter what they crying out, no one is going to believe or take criminal's word seriously.

Since Xam Rainxy has uprooting border markings, he is often said that he will take this border's issue to International Court, but so far, there is no International Court. Right now, through interview with Radio Free Asia, he is shameless mentioned about International Court again. When he will complaint to International Court?? As I am aware, International Court in Xam Rainxy's view could be in Beijing and the judge is former King Sihanouk.

Hey! AH fake Khmer on drug in the slum of Sydney. The Vietcong border posts meaning nothing and it is the Vietcong government willingness to break all law in the book to cover up their naked aggression on Cambodia through their Vietcong puppet government is the main issue here!

Two wrongs don't make a right! Today AH HUN SEN put Mr. Sam Rainsy in jail but in the future Cambodian people will put AH HUN SEN in jail!

I don't think ah khmer in Sydney above has brain to think what's right or wrong. He needs some treatment or lock up so he's not endanger to other people.

Why Hun Sen refuse to do the right thing? What is in his brain that force him not to do the right thing? 14 million Cambodian must bow before Hun Sen? ahhahhahahha

It seems that Hun Sen has absolute power and as the saying go. Absolute power corrupted absolutely!

At a moment, Xam RainXy likes a mad dog which was hit by a big stick. He and his stupid supporters will invent the stories as much as they can to get public sympathy. It is laughable for a convicted criminal tries to crying out to public that he is a hero!!

Finally, like father like son, Xam RainXy becomes a criminal and escape from the country likes his father did in the 1960s.

Please respect the opinion of others. People think differently. The person in Sydney believes that the border posts are right on the border line or on the Vietnam side because he views the world from Sydney. The person at 2:27 PM believes that the border posts are inside Cambodia. These two people just voice their opinions. The fact is Cambodia may lose or gain territory. So, your opinions are not important. Don't fight each other. History will tell as we have been told.

The political future of sam rainsy is may be finished in the kingdom of Cambodia.

It is the moment to reflect about the construction of a new political party of opposition to the kingdom of Cambodia for 2013.
2 political parties in democratic struggle for power is simpler. As in the United States, in Great Britain. Because several parties in coalition to govern often create political instability and fragility of the government.

The kingdom of Cambodia can in a satisfactory way in the respect for the constitution, for the democracy and for the political pluralism to limit itself to 2 political parties which make the competition for the power. It is necessary to change the Cambodian electoral voting system.

The PPC and a new pro-monarchic rival party for example in democratic struggle for power in 2013 is the simplest and the most solid scheme.

Anonymous said...

Prince Sisowath Thomico or Prince Norodom Ranarith can take the initiative to create this new opposition political party pro-monarchist to the CPP in view of the bipartisanship for elections of 2013.

2 major political parties competing for power is the simplest and the Government resulting from it is stronger and more stable to govern without needing often unstable coalitions.

The VIETNAMESE EXPANSION violated the International Laws, United Nations Resolution Paris Peace Agreements in 1991, Cambodian National Security, Secrecy and Privacy acts, the Khmer Laws of the 1900’s, the FRENCH BONNE MAP of 1954 by encroaching and moving the boundary line. The Cambodia-Vietnam border demarcation started in 2005 to be completed by 2008 but the Vietnamese has changed to 2012. All the border markers installed by the Vietnamese are not official without the United Nations and ASEAN supervision, inspection according to the FRENCH BONNE MAP of 1954 and protecting by the United Nations peacekeepers. Hun Sen kept silence on the Cambodia-Vietnam border demarcation and declares war on Cambodia-Thai border for Preah Vihear temple and surrounding area of 5 sq. km. While Cambodia (181,600 sq. km.) is still occupy and control by the Vietnamese government. Hun Sen will punish any Cambodian who anti-Vietnamese on the border issues and the Vietnamese living in Cambodia to fulfills the VIETNAMESE EXPANSION.

All Khmer people have the rights to pull all the illegal border markers installed by the Vietnamese without the United Nations and ASEAN inspection, monitoring, and protecting by the UN peacekeepers.

Senscourt biggest payday $15000 dollars for 6 wooden sticks that cost 00 dollar, next time they will put those wooden sticks in front of every villager homes to make money , if the villagers do not have the money they will take over the land. Senscourt did this to silence the whole Khmer population on the border issues.

Mr. Sam Raingsy have the rights to file an appeal to drop all charges, fines, release all the villagers, and no time in jail. If the CPP do drop all charges then file a $1 million dollars count suit against the CPP if no proof is provide that those 6 wooden sticks and all the border markers installed by the Vietnamese are at exact location according to the FRENCH BONNE MAP of 1954.

Sam Ransy should demand one more condition for his return to Cambodia. The court must prove that the border posts that Sam Ransy uprooted were in the right border line.

All Khmer people even CPP members admited that the border posts were inside Cambodia. So what Sam Ransy did was right as Khmer citizen.

So far the court could not prove whether the border posts were inside or on correct border line. They charged him on uprooting the post and race discrimination which are baseless.

Let's pray that the two angels on CPP logo punish this one eye court and Hun Sen. When Hun Sen is out of power, let's send him and his family to live in Vietnam on the land he is trying to give to Viet.

I do not see another political party of opposition capable of competing with the CPP in 2013 that a big pro monarchist party. To do it, we must negotiate with the CPP to get to change the voting system: a single round and the victory is acquired by the simple majority.

This forces all the smaller political parties to negotiate and to rally behind the 2 biggest parties which have more chances to win election.

the right moment may have arrived to reflect about the creation of a big opposition pro monarchist party for 2013.

the two-party political system like the United States and that of Great Britain is better adapted for the kingdom of Cambodia.

East Timorese, Portuguese colonization
Main article: Portuguese Timor

The Portuguese were the first Europeans to colonize the Maritime Southeast Asia when they arrived in the sixteenth century.[11] They established outposts in the (now Indonesian) Maluku Islands and Timor and surrounding islands. During the House of Habsburg's rule over Portugal (1580-1640), all surrounding outposts were lost and eventually came under Dutch control by the mid-seventeenth century. Effective European occupation of a small part of the territory only began after 1769, when the city of Dili, the capital of so-called Portuguese Timor, was founded.[12] In the nineteenth century, the Netherlands gained a foothold on the western half of the island West Timor, and formally received it in 1859 through the Treaty of Lisbon. The definitive border was established by the Hague Treaty of 1916, and it remains the international boundary between the successor states East Timor and Indonesia.

For the Portuguese, East Timor remained little more than a neglected trading post until the late nineteenth century. Investment in infrastructure, health, and education was minimal. Sandalwood remained the main export crop with coffee exports becoming significant in the mid-nineteenth century. In places where Portuguese rule was asserted, it tended to be brutal and exploitative.[13] At the beginning of the twentieth century, a faltering home economy prompted the Portuguese to extract greater wealth from its colonies which met Timorese resistance.[13]

In late 1941, Portuguese Timor was briefly occupied by Dutch and Australian troops in an attempt to preempt a Japanese invasion of the island. The Portuguese Governor protested the occupation, and Dutch forces returned to the Dutch side of the island.[14] The Japanese landed and drove the small Australian force out of Dili, and the mountainous interior became the scene of a guerrilla campaign, known as the Battle of Timor. Waged by Allied forces and Timorese volunteers against the Japanese, the struggle resulted in the deaths of between 40,000 and 70,000 Timorese.[15] Following the end of the war, Portuguese control was reinstated.

The process of decolonization in Portuguese Timor began in 1974, following the change of government in Portugal in the wake of the Carnation Revolution. Owing to political instability and more pressing concerns over the decolonisation of Angola and Mozambique, Portugal effectively abandoned East Timor and it unilaterally declared itself independent on November 28, 1975.[citation needed] Nine days later, it was invaded and occupied by Indonesian forces before the declaration could be internationally recognized.
Indonesian occupation
Main article: Indonesian occupation of East Timor
See also: Indonesian invasion of East Timor

As political parties began to form and emerge inside the country, the Indonesian military headed an operation that backed Apodeti, a pro-Indonesian party that encouraged divisions between the pro-independence parties of East Timor.[citation needed] A brief civil war occurred in 1975. Indonesia alleged that the East Timorese FRETILIN party, which received some vocal support from the People's Republic of China, was communist. Fearing a Communist domino effect in Southeast Asia—and in the wake of its South Vietnam campaign—the United States,[16] along with its ally Australia,[17] supported the pro-Western Indonesian government's actions. The UN Security Council had a unanimous vote for Indonesia to stop its invasion and to withdraw immediately from East Timor’s borders, and was blocked by the United States from imposing any economic sanctions or other means of enforcing this mandate.

The territory was declared the 27th province of Indonesia in July 1976. Its nominal status in the UN remained that of a "non-self-governing territory under Portuguese administration."
Demonstration for independence from Indonesia.

Indonesian rule in East Timor was often marked by extreme violence and brutality; estimates of the number of East Timorese who died during the occupation vary from 60,000 to 200,000,[18] A detailed statistical report prepared for the Commission for Reception, Truth and Reconciliation in East Timor cited a minimum bound of 102,800 conflict-related deaths in the period 1974–1999, namely, approximately 18,600 killings and 84,200 'excess' deaths from hunger and illness.[19]

Anonymous said...

The East Timorese guerrilla force, Falintil, fought a campaign against the Indonesian forces from 1975–1999, some members being trained in Portugal by Portuguese special forces.[citation needed] The Dili Massacre proved a turning point for the East Timorese cause internationally, and a burgeoning East Timor solidarity movement grew in Portugal, Australia, and the United States.
Independence
See also: Transitional period (East Timor)

Following a UN-sponsored agreement between Indonesia, Portugal and the United States and a surprise decision by the Indonesian President B. J. Habibie, a UN-supervised popular referendum was held on August 30, 1999, to choose between Special Autonomy within Indonesia and independence. 78.5% of voters chose independence, but violent clashes, instigated primarily by elements within the Indonesian military and aided by Timorese pro-Indonesia militias led by Eurico Guterres, broke out soon afterwards. A peacekeeping force (INTERFET led by Australia) intervened to restore order. The militias fled across the border into Indonesian West Timor, from which sporadic armed raids were attempted. As these raids were repelled and international moral opinion forced Indonesia to withdraw tacit support,[citation needed] the militias dispersed. INTERFET was replaced by a UN force of International Police, the mission became known as UNTAET, and the UNTAET Crime Scene Detachment was formed to investigate alleged atrocities. UNTAET was headed by the late Sérgio Vieira de Mello as UN Transitional Administrator from December 1999 to May 2002. On December 2, 1999, De Mello established the National Consultative Council (NCC), a political body consisting of 11 East Timorese and four UNTAET members charged with overseeing the decision-making process during the transition period leading to independence. However, UNTAET experienced difficulties initially in establishing its credibility amongst the Timorese leadership, leading to street violence. An important workshop on March 1, 2000, brought the Timorese and UN leadership group together to tease out a revised strategy, and identify institutional needs. The workshop was organised by Francis Martin O'Donnell [2], and the Timorese delegation was led by José Ramos-Horta, and included Mari Alkatiri. The outcome was an agreed blueprint for a joint administration with executive powers, including leaders of the National Congress for Timorese Reconstruction (CNRT), led by future president Xanana Gusmão. Further details were worked out in a conference in May 2000. De Mello presented the new blueprint to a donor conference in Lisbon,[20] on June 22, 2000, and to the UN Security Council on June 27, 2000.[21] On July 12, 2000, the NCC adopted a regulation establishing a Transitional Cabinet of four East Timorese and four UNTAET representatives.[22] The revamped joint administration successfully laid the institutional foundations for independence, and on September 27, 2002, East Timor joined the United Nations.
