‘No Pardon’ for Sam Rainsy: Hun Sen

Prime Minister Hun Sen said on Tuesday he will not request a royal pardon for Sam Rainsy in the event the opposition leader is found guilty by a provincial court for incitement and destruction of property.
The prime minister has the right to request a pardon by the king of any convicted criminal, according to Cambodian jurisprudence, but Hun Sen said Thursday he would not exercise his right in the case of Sam Rainsy.
“I want to announce that there will be no pardon to Sam Rainsy when the court convicts him,” Hun Sen said in a speech at the inauguration of a section of National Road 1 in Kandal province. “No way to pardon him. Sam Rainsy, if you write a letter to request a pardon from me, this time, I’m sorry, no way. You prepare yourself to face the court.”
Sam Rainsy, who is in France, is facing charges by the Svay Rieng provincial court after he allegedly led villagers to unearth Vietnamese border demarcation posts in Chantrea district in October.
“Absolutely, I will notright write a letter to Prime Minister Hun Sen to request a pardon,” Sam Rainsy told VOA Khmer Tuesday.
The provincial court held an arraignment on Dec. 28, but the opposition leader was not present, prompting a warrant for his arrest. Two villagers are being held on similar charges in the incident, while three remaining wanted by authorities.
“Prime Minister Hun Sen should apologize to the Cambodian people because he’s grabbing the land of the people and is arresting the leaders of the people and putting them in jail,” Sam Rainsy said. “I believe that one day Prime Minister Hun Sen will apologize to the people.”

"Pride before the falls" right now, Hun sen is full of pride and glory...but nothing lasts forever.
Mr. Sam Rainsy have been working in the Cambodian Government for a very long time and i think he understand very well how youn operate. he is now immune to the system. Youn are frustrated. khmer need to support Sam Rainsy to free Hun Sen from Youn.
Its nice to hear about that Mr. Sam Rainsy have been working in the Cambodian Government for a very long time.
Hun Sen went too far, Khmers know who Hun Sen really is.

The real criminal is Hun Sen.
Hun Sen must pay tax to government and he don't pay.
He steals government money.
When he sell 1 litre of oil for $1, he must pay $0.40 to government.
He must be juged and jailed.
Any thing has a start and end. Hun Sen is not God. He lost one eye and he smokes a lot too. His health will be in trouble one day. Lets wait and see when he is gone, those who are supporting him and his own families will be punished.

=Yes...I read it correctly that AH Hun Sen pardon the Thai spy but AH HUN SEN can't pardon the Sam Rainsy. When I think about it, AH HUN SEN alway see his own people as enemy and how can he find peace with his own people?
PM Hun Sen yesterday announced that there will no pardon to Xam RainXy if the Court convicted him, means Xam RainXy's political career in Cambodia is overed and his life goes back to square one. In addition, Xam RainXy seems to follow his father's foot step, run away from Cambodia and died shamely in overseas.

It Ok that Sam Rainsy is prosecuted, what bout the CPP government, the leader like Hun Sen and H. N Hong should be made accountable for the lost of Cambodian land to Vietnam. This issues is by far much more critical then the action of the landowner and Sam Rainsy.
Lost of Land to Vietnam Hun Sen and H. N Hong parlamentary Immunity should also be remove and prosecuted just like Sam Rainsy and the land owner.
We need to revisit the constitution and the 1991 Paris Agreements signature countries. It not acceptable to have poor and incompleted leader like Hun Sen running this country...we are going backward....soon no Khmer will own their home or land...if he or they (CPP) continue...

Sam Rainsy has never feared to make a mess in Cambodia because he always realised on his last resort is writing a apologise letter to Hun Sen, but now, thing is changed and the door is locked.
There are two things that Sam Rainsy has to decide:
1. Goes back to Cambodia to faces the Court and prepare himself goes to jail if the Court convicted him.
2. Give up politics and keeps living in France as long as he likes.
Some analysis already said that Sam Rainsy is not brave like Mrs. Aung San Suu Yi in Burma. He is the runner, but not a fighter.

Dear Cambodian brothers ans sisters,
I am a Vietnamese official in Hanoi. I can tell you that the Vietnamese Communist Party and Government let or even push Hun Sen to do more and more bad things so as to create an opportunity to remove him from power. We realize that what Hun Sen has been doing lately is very bad not only for Cambodia but also for Vietnam whose image has been tarnished by this Cambodian leader's wrongdoings and miscalculations.
