Ly Diep is an idiot, he must go to school, take some law courses if he wants to be a serious journalist.
An educated person should be able to distinguish between right and wrong.
Sihanouk is just a looser politician who failed in many complex politic events.
Even the father or grand father of Ly Diep would be not better than Sihanouk because Cambodia is a weak country, between two big bad neighbours, intervention of super power China, USA, USSR..
Sihanouk is the master of all treacherous acts in last century that brought tragedy and catastrophy for Khmer people.
He is the man whom people love to hate.
Sihanouk is traitor. Cambodia is in this situation as the result of his foulishness policy which caused 2M khmers to die and Cambodia is now in the hand of Communist Viet. Not only that he feels no remorse a bit of his actions, he is still directing the movie and singing Karaoke.
I remembered in the 1970-75 war, the Viets and Khmer Rouge, headed by Sihanouk, bombarded Phnom Penh every day with rockets which result in Khmer people died and injured constantly and what Sihanouk cared about at that time? He was afraid that his movies, which was made and directed by him which happened to be still in Phnom Penh, was lost or destroyed by the war. He asked France to pressure Lon Nol into finding the film and returned it back to him. To Sihanouk, he values khmer lives are cheapter than his films. Sihanouk is a cheap king who cares nothing about his people.

The argument in here is between two groups.
-A criminal group: this group has their ancestors who were criminals or themselves were criminals to their own Nation.
-Another group: They were either victims of criminal actvities committed by the first group and plus all other Nationalist who are protecting Social Justice of Cambodia.
I myself am also belong to the last group.
If we are still blind and cannot find a solution to correct ourselves before we die, we are still ennemy to each other until our generation is gone.

Some people seem don't know that Vietcongs came in Cambodia, from 1965 to 1975, with or without Sihanouk agreement, Americans bombed Cambodia that time with or without Lon Nol.
Instead of blaming Vitnam and USA those people blame Sihanouk.

I believe your action here doesn't help Khmer cause a bit. Instead it creates even more hatred among Khmers and ultimately it serves and benefits the Yuons as you take your time to castigate and attack the Khmer former King.
Of course political mistakes were made and we lost so much. But as we fell further why should we, you and me and all Khmers, NOW turn around and launch new attacks among ourselves and tear up our own unhealed wounds?
We should think much harder and make great effort to find brighter ideas to say positive things of one another. Negative things we must and will mention too but in a loving constructive way.
We , all Khmers, are hurt so much in this long journey to rescue our beloved people. But we are small in all aspects of our lives and we live right between the two hungry carnivors who would tear up our flesh every single time they spot a tiny opportunity to do so.
And we lost and lost. But our loss should not continue when we strive to understand most aspects of the problems we face and act wisely. I know it is easier said than done but we should cautiously do the things we want to do like "som niyeay phong".
We need strong minded men and women among our people to lead us to a new dawn of hope and joy. We must build a concrete solidarity.
We need not attack one another no more because it will not change our bitter past. We need not create new enemies among us otherwise our needed strength will further be weakened.
Meanwhile I say we should deport all Vietnamese back to their country. We don't need them in our land.

Ly Diep is not liar. What he says is correct about Sihanouk is right. Sihanouk supporters cannot deny that during the 1970-75 war Sihanouk was a leader of the Khmer Rouge. After winning the war, April 17, 1975 Sihanouk was still leader of the Khmer Rouge and 2M khmer died under Khmer Rouge rules which happened to be led by Sihanouk at that time. If we don't call him criminal should we call him a hero?
I fully agreed with Ly Diep for his critic to Sihanouk. As a polotician, for this present time or past time, you are facing with public scruitineered regardless who you are. Compare to many other big countries leaders, Sihanouk would be just a criminal and he wouldn't be freed today. He would face to simila punishment like Saddam Hussein who has killed 1/2 his own citizen of his Nation. Only half brain people who are still regarding sihanouk as a Hero. His heroism has gone by himself for committing a big Crime in the 21st century. Until now he has never made any public apology yet for his crime and his mistake.

Yes, sure you can blame Pol Pot for Killing 2M khmers. Pol Pot on the other hand can excuse himself by saying that he only did the killings after Sihanouk, his boss, ordered him to do so. Sihanouk on the other hand can excuse himself by saying that he ordered the killings at the Viets' request. At the end no one took responsibility for taking 2M khmers lives.

Khmer rouges hated Sihanouk, Sihanouk was jailed,
Khmer rouges killed Khmers Lon Nol,
Khmer Vietminhs alias CPP members killed Khmer Lon Nol,
Khmer rouges killed Khmer Vietminhs,
Vietnameses chased away Khmer rouges.
I was in Cambodia from 1950 to 1979. Hate or love Sihanouk was Khmer Rouge leader all along from 1970 to 1976 during which 2M Khmers were starved or killed. Sihanouk can deny responsibility all he wants but deep in his heart he was criminal.
Just because someone accused someone of being this and being that it's not necessary mean that it's true. Readers have to analyze whether the text are facts or fictions and make judgement from there. Readers should not be pushed to believe by anyone other than by themselves, the readers.
