The Foreign Minister has voiced disappointment over the Cambodian leader's snide remark against the Thai government and Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva, saying that the incident threatens efforts to rebuild diplomatic ties between Thailand and Cambodia.
Chavanont Intarakomalyasut, secretary to the foreign minister, said the Thai government is very disappointed with the insulting remark made against Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva by his Cambodian counterpart, Hun Sen.
Chavanont noted that he never expected such ill treatment from a national leader.
In response to Hun Sen's claims that the Abhisit administration came into power through a military coup and violent movements, Chavanont said Abhisit is the rightful premier and that he was elected through a parliamentary process under constitutional democracy.
Meanwhile, he stated that the Thai government does not have any ill intentions towards Cambodians, but admitted that such an act of disrespect will make efforts to restore diplomatic relations between Thailand and Cambodia even more difficult, especially regarding negotiations over border demarcation and the Preah Vihear Temple dispute.
Chavanont added that from now on, the chances of the two leaders being engaged in amicable conversation at the international platform would be very limited.
He went on to say that the Foreign Ministry will continue to try to settle the Thai-Cambodian border issues and to fight to protect the rights and honor of the kingdom.

Most of those comments seem like Vietnamese slave supporters. The only thing we look down on Xen because Xen has no education degree every decisions are from Hanoi. Every Khmer soldiers was trained by Viet-Cong to fight Thai. Now Khmer are homeless and country less because Xen government is under the Vietnamese supervision. Xen made any comments to Thai is stealing Khmer land it is only 1% correct the 99% is Vietnamese is stealing Khmer land. XEN called Abhisit stupid and crazy. Abhisit never lost any inches of his land to any country and never sell his country like homeless XEN has done.

Cambodian people do not expect their Prime Minister to curse people. You never hear any leader in the world uses such words. It is ashamed for Cambdodian people to have such leader.

there are better diplomatic words to say but not childish words.
Khmer must show mature and diplomatic way to solve problem.
it is not surprised for us that Hun Sen has used such childish words. That is his wild nature. He lost his control. He lost his mind. It just shows Cambdodia has bad leader. It is bad luck for Cambodian to have such a leader.
khmer is so small country. We have lost most our land to Siam and Viet by neighboring countries's greedy and by our stupidity and greed for power.
Now we can't afford to lose our land by our uneducated prime minister. He is very provocative. he invites trouble with Thailand. He is a gang.
We can't use force or war to solve our border problem. We are small. We must use our wisdom and legal mean and diplomatic way. These ways we are more competitative than Thailand.
But Hun Sen already said that this problem is not between Cambodian and Thailand. It is between himself and Abbashit. Therefore, Khmer should not support Hun Sen to fight this war. it is very dangerous for our country to go war. we have suffered for years. We can't afford to pay this personal war of such leader.
